Great! It's really easy to win an entry into the 50k freeroll.
You just need to win 2 sng's.

Does anyone have any strategies that they are planning to use with this? Is volume the best way to go? higher or lower buy ins?

Stick with whatever buy-ins you currently are playing. If you don't currently play SNG's then stick with the lower buy-ins to start.

Played 6 tourneys and won 2 to qualify for the 50k freeroll. I just saw there is already 3200 players registered and thinking about skipping it now.

I was about to post a thread about this then I noticed this one.
Gonna grind the $1/$2 sngs all weekend to boost my bankroll/get entry into the freeroll.
Also for every sng you cash in you get one entry into a raffle for some cool prizes!
See you there, and good luck all(name at FT is same as here)

re: Sit and Go Madness - August 21-23 FTP poker

so I played seven $1 turbo sngs and didnt even cash in one of them ! and then hit a streak in the next 5, winning 3 and coming 2nd in the other 2, so now Ive got my entry into the $50000 freeroll(automatically registered).
gonna continue playing these as they are quite soft once you find your groove(i hope Ive found mine now)

Clearly this promotion has brought out the dregs of poker players. The play last night was about the worst I've seen in a long time. Unfortunately, I don't tend to do very well against reckless, bizarre play. I'm still trying to "biggest bonus ever" money and will have to decide if it's best to just take the weekend off or suck it up and adjust my game. Not real happy about it, but what can you do?

It Depends, lol.
If you're hoping to get on the Leaderboard, unless you're capable of multi-tabling 20tables and run with an avg. ROI of 25%+ while doing so.... you can pretty much fuhged abow dit. After checking the results in SNG Madness events I'd tried in the past, it was quite apparent I had no hope in hell by playing 4tables.
To gain entry to the $50K freeroll... yah.. not too difficult, as mentioned above - the play is pretty bad and you just might regret it (in the sng's that is... weekends are bad enough.. SNG Madness weekend.. arghhh).

The $50K freeroll has a really wide payout structure.... I think I won the big $5 in it the last time after playing for a few hours.. yay!! Final table cash is nice though.
Another thing.... because of some of the grinders who are mass-multi-tabling these, they will often drop down in buyin level..... so in the $5's you'll find players who regularly play around the $25 buyin level (<< fact!). Along with them, an unusual amount of over-aggro-spew donks (because of the promo). The regs. will be playing like bots so there is an oppurtunity to try to exploit them.. but....
