Should I Use My FPPs to Buy All-In Mag
I see PokerStars has a new item in their store, All-In Magazine. It's 12 issues for 500 Fpps. Regular price is almost $30/yr., although I'm not sure they'll sell many subscriptions at that price. The $8 bonus Star was offering this month for 500 points is more like a fair price.
Has anyone read this magazine? I don't have any other poker mag subscription, so this might be kind of interesting. My point accumulation has come to a grinding halt since I went back to 5nl where I can actually make a consistent profit. I think I'll wait until October and see what they offer. I could use another shirt or cap for 600fpps, too. |

Eh, its so cheap can't really go wrong. I don't know what the magazine is like, but the cost per issue is less than buying a weekday paper where I live. Sometimes its nice to have a magazine to browse, I don't like reading long articles online.

They offer free copies of All-In magazine at the casinos in Tunica. I'm not certain, but I think they are abridged versions of the newsstand/subscription issues.
They have nice pictures, and some of the articles are decent, particularly the profiles of professional players, but for the most part it's not a magazine I would pay for. Most of the tournament news is about 1-2 months old and the strategy articles are basically a repeat of what you can find on online forums. |
