| Scammer Caught at 888 I began to play on 888 poker when i met someone on a forum that would give me $100 poker money for $60 neteller. All went well and i bought more from him to cashout more. It was pure profit. Now i got an e-mail from 888 that the player i got the money from was fraudulent. And they dared to close my account. What can i do? And how can they just close my account? Now it's just me who is getting scammed. Not the pokerroom and not the fraudulent player. It makes me sad that a pokerroom like 888 handle their players like this. I would give pokerplayers a negative advice to open an account there. |

| When anyone offered me 100 for 60 all alarms would start ringing tbh. I can't see that that could be a fair deal for everyone and would think it's probably a scam. Sorry to hear that you lost your money but maybe you (and others) will learn from it. |

I'd check the Terms of Service but I would have thought that if a poker room suspects fraudulent activity then they are well within their rights to close down all accounts involved. You've been scammed and it's not the fault of 888. |

| 888 Poker is a publicly traded company on the London Stock Exchange, and I am sure have many safeguards in place to protect against money laundering, etc. They have cannot allow their services to be used for such activities. They were well within their rights to close your account. As far as not letting the other guy transfer in the first place, I'm sure they didn't know about this until after you made a withdrawal request, which is usually when most sites perform security checks on your account. Lesson learned that you should never transfer funds with people you don't know and trust. |

| re: Scammer Caught at 888 poker It's funny that everybody says it not 888's fault. I got to hear how this guy got this so called "fraudulent" money. He made like 100 accounts with the $8 free. Then played with it and when he got $100 he would send it to me or other people. If the security of the site was good my problem would never have happened. It's all their fault that guys like him can win/steal our money. |

| Obviously the guy never cashed out himself, instead he found others who'd 'trust him'?. Think about it from 888's viewpoint > player multi-accounts, transfers to another to get the cash (I'd be thinking that the 'another' is friends with multi-accounter (or 'is' the multi-accounter) & has made arrangements with them to get the money they wouldn't be able to get otherwise. To suggest that 888Poker are scammers is way out of line imo & I think the thread title here should be changed (at the very least). If anything, this just shows that 888Poker is the opposite of being scammers. My experience with 888Poker has been Excellent! Too bad you took a deal & trusted someone you didn't know. Question for you > what reason did the scammer give you for not being able to just cash it out for themselves??? I mean who in their right mind would be willing to sell for 60cents on the dollar? (basically paying $1.66 on the dollar for their own money). |

Maybe instead of posting on internet forums how terrible 888 are, you should be negotiating with them for them to re-open your account? Obviously you wouldn't have been working with him to scam 888, and now you have been caught out you want to ruin their reputation, I'm sure that you're far too sensible for that! Quote:

| I agree that they should not allow this guy to transfer the money to you if the money come from multiple $8 free accounts, but sometimes the security take a long time to act. But you should know better too, no one would offer this great deal for free. Now, the only thing that rest to you is try to re-open your account. |

Did he have many post on that forum? ... crazy stories from low count posters tend to make some of us skeptical. |

OP wouldn't have gotten this info. from 888Poker... he got it from the guy who traded with him (if 'the guy' isn't actually him that is) |

| Obviously the guy was doing something wrong if he needed you to do this for him. If he wasn't breaking the TOS than why would he need you? You are pretty much just as guilty as him because of that imo. You had to know you were breaking the rules. OP you should learn to read people better, before you play any more poker or make any deals, because free money from some random guy on the internet is a huge tell. |
