| S&G tournament troubles I play S&G's about 50% of the time I'm online and recently I've been having a problem making it past 3-5th at the end. The reason why is I get down to the final 3-5 and I'm short stacked and either end up getting beat out by a better hand or sucked out on an attempt to double up. If I had chips to let the blinds take away from me I could sit back and watch other people make moves. Is there a strategy to getting up in chips early to the middle of the tournament? I try to see as many flops as I can cheaply but if I don't hit, then I'm SOL for the latter part. Any advice? |

| It's like in an MTT: when you near the bubble, you should loosten up. I tend to lose confidence, and wait only for the big hands and that's the worst thing you can do. Take gambles by stealing the blinds when they're 50/100 or 100/200 and try pushing with K9/QT hands or small pairs if you're not getting any better hands; people generally aren't going to call an all in without a pocket pair or a decent ace. If they are, then so be it - you still have a chance at doubling up. |
