Haven't played it yet. Probably going to be a nit-fest. Fishes typically spew preflop because they get bored and want more hands than they should. Quick-folding means they don't need to get bored anymore. Obviously they can still spew post-flop, so maybe that's fine.

HUDs won't work, and it will be impossible to build any history with villains. It's gonna be weird.

Yeah playing tighter will definitely have its advantages, haven't tried it yet but might be an interesting change.

You didn't even play it but you already spoke the outcome very well. I played it and it's gay. Poker is not about playing your cards. It's about playing the environment. You can't play the environment in poker if your opponents keep changing every millisecond. This is just pre-flop and flop battle. It's showdown battle. There's no bluffing involved. There will be lot of emotional pos who shove all-in pre-flop to defend their blinds though or with any hand Ace Ten or higher.

I hadn't heard about Rush Poker.

So basically, you are moved as soon as you fold, so you can play a new hand at a new table. Interesting.

So it's going basically be playing your cards, without specific reads on opponents.

But on the plus side, you get to see a whole of hands.

Do the blinds go up any quicker?

position is strange too
like if i read this correctly you can get unlucky and post a whole lot of small blinds ?

"You’ll post the big blind upon joining a Rush Poker* game. After that, the big blind is assigned to the player who has gone the longest without posting it. If there is a tie for who has gone the longest without posting, the big blind will be chosen randomly among the tied players. All other seating positions, including the small blind, are completely random from hand to hand."

re: Rush Poker!

Meh, I racked up 1000 hands in an hour, slowly increasing from 1 table to 4, I was able to mulitable pretty easy, I made half a buy in at 10NL, but was pretty swingy. I hate the format though, I like observing hands I have folded and making notes on my opponents, you are just playing your two cards.

One possible upside if you have very few leaks in your preflop game not having an operating HUD could be to your advantage. I might have another quick session later, a bit of a thumbs down for me, seems like a rake multiplier for FT but it will attract more casual players - it will be interesting if this takes off as to how it affects the play at the standard tables!

it looks like a good way to play for players who do not like to have breaks. It is good because you play a lot of poker however it is not good for players who like to get a read on the players at the table.

will give it a go but its seems very random. Blinds and button positions are randonly assigned for effectively u can play for free and wait for Aces. This bothes well for the good players as this is just another format of poker for donkeys to donate at.

Crazzzzzzzzzy Game .... Played it in Play money... Good if you get bored easily... But very complex when your running 4 tables... Nothing like a standard cash game.... Can not really Track other players etc.... Little complex for my liking!

I missed the blinds 20 hands in a row. I think they are random.

Up to now it's only deployed up to 50nl, right? I hope they DON'T do it for tables higher. It's too attractive for fishes, but beyond the novelty, it's a less interesting form of poker when you can't establish table dynamics and so on.

Yeah, I really don't want to see this take root. As long as its seen as a glorified version of video poker, I'm ok w it, but I'd hate to see this deployed at other sites.

The FT regs seem to think there are ways to exploit the game, both for money and for FTP's, but they seem to be getting bored quickly with it - the catch will be if this takes away traffic from the normal games imo, or breaks the fish cuz they don't realize how to exploit it.

I like this, the waters are filled with calling stations and fish. You can open shove with Aces and get called by much much weaker. Defeats the purpose of Multi-Tabling. Having two of these "Rush Poker" windows open will give you 400 hands an hour. Quick fold feature is excellent. I'm gonna have to say I'm going to enjoy this, a lot.

I've dropped 2+ BIs in 336 hands.

Lessons learned:

1) I need to know who is capable of folding to win.
2) Rush poker is not for me.

re: Rush Poker!

Last session @10NL 6-max:

296 hands, 42 minutes (423 hands/hr)
+19.40
Probably ~80 FTPs?

Table dynamics are pretty interesting. Ax seems a lot more valuable, because you can pretty much assume a lot of the aces are gone if people are Quick Folding.

Had a couple epic suckouts -- QQ ran into AK who flopped a straight, but then I snapped another ten for the boat.
88 vs A9 vs AQ, all in pre, flopped quads ????

Also helps when you get 88 vs AK, and flop KK8

EDIT: I wonder if rakeback is effected at all by this?
