Rivers Casino Poker room anyone go there yet ?

They just started table games in PA and I was wondering if anyone has played in the Rivers Casino poker room or any other western Pa casinos. If so what are the stakes and action at the tables ?

I'm definitely interested in the action happening - I dont even know about the Rivers, but I hear there is a HUGE wait for tables at the Sands in Bethlehem in
East PA, and good action at Mt. Airy, but I guess that doesnt help you over there.

ive been there 4 times... since table games... saturday night is the best and worst time to go... Best becaue everyones drunk and there to HAVE FUN instead of there to MAKE MONEY ... worst day because its the only day youll have to wait for a table... took me 2 hours to get on a 1$-3$ table (lowest limit) i might start playing 2-5 but havnt decided yet

Not yet but will make it down there soon. Still trying to figure out why thay went with 1/3 instead of 1/2?

I agree that is a stranger amount. 1/3 ... I suppose it increases the rake and they want to get as much as they can. I am considering trying to get into one of the tournaments, but I didnt see any on their web site.

I don't believe they have started any tourneys yet. In a month or so they will start from what I hear.

I was wondering if anyone was there this past weekend? If so have they cleared up some of the problems with the inexperienced dealers? Also, what were the waiting lists for the tables like? I heard the past weekends it was pretty long.

Here's a posting from a local blog (hope that is ok to post. I will take out the blog name) This provides some useful info: August 2, 2010 — I have been able to put in two successful sessions in the past two days, both at the Rivers. I have yet to visit the Meadows, although I plan to do so very soon. As far as the Rivers goes, I am able to put in an updated review and this is what I have noticed. Floor: The floor has become much more acclimated with the action of the room and they appear to be moving the lists much more quickly. The Bravo system does not appear to running smoothly just quite yet, although I did not have more than a 20 minute wait during peak hours on Sunday or Saturday this past weekend. Dealers: The dealers have shown marked improvement, although there still is a lot to be desired. Although, in the te couple of weeks, I have noticed a consistent upgrade in the amount of mistakes, hand reading, personality, etc. Action: The action in the room is still top notch. Granted, nothing could have been much fishier than the first week, but I have yet to sit down at a table and not notice at least 3 easy marks. Drink Service: To be honest, I think it has actually gotten worse. I noticed two waitresses only during the peak hours of both Saturday and Sunday of this past weekend. If there were more, they were nowhere to be seen and this is clearly a problem. Cage: I have to commend the cashiers at the cage for moving much more quickly in cashing in/out players and have yet to stand in a line of more than 2 people, which is a drastic improvement over what was taking place during the opening week. Bad Beat: The Rivers has begun a bad beat jackpot. I am not certain of the qualifying hands, but I believe I heard Aces Full beaten by quads or better, both players holding pocket pairs and the boat holding pocket aces. Don’t quote me on this though as I didn’t check myself. I did notice that they are awarding jackpots for high hands, including straight flushes and four of a kind 10′s – Aces. I like the addition of the high hands to the bad beat jackpot.

Yeah, well that bad beat is all most impossible to hit. It's usually a FH with JJ or better, beaten by quads. At least all the Bad Beat Jack pots in CO were.

I actually have a friend who is a cook at the Meadows in Washington Co. and he says that the games there are pretty easy. Alot of the people are there just to bet on horses, so they take their winnings from that over to the poker table. He also said it's a "rough area", so I dont know how much you would care about that haha but just giving out a friendly warning lol

I heard from someone who stopped by the poker room. They spoke with Matt, the current manager. He said tourneys start in 2 weeks. He didn't mention anything about the stakes or format though.

The room seemed organized and the 3 dealears at the 1/3 NL tables seemed well trained and and did a good job ( I was there on a sat night at about 1 am and the room had a larger crowd with seats open at almost full tables. BEST PART OF ALL I MANAGED TO TRIPPLE MY MEASLY $ 100 ROLL INTO ALMOST 300 (

The room seemed organized and the 3 dealears at the 1/3 NL tables seemed well trained and and did a good job ( I was there on a sat night at about 1 am and the room had a larger crowd with seats open at almost full tables. BEST PART OF ALL I MANAGED TO TRIPPLE MY MEASLY $ 100 ROLL INTO ALMOST 300 (was up to about 600 but took a beat of turned flush over flush .. and his was a little higher :0 ) But this gave me a enough (prob not mathmatically) to play at the min bet tables of blackjack which were $15.( I was told on weekdays/nights the do have 10 and possibly 5 dollar blackjack tables) What happened to the good old days where you could play on 1 and 2 dollar tables and get free becks beers. btw in PA they do not comp alchoholic drinks at the tables. All in all I would recomend a visit there if youre in the Pittsburgh area (PM me and maybe I'll meet u there)

2nd trip down a few weeks back ... srry for delay in posting.... $100 buy in 1/3 NL table dont remember the details .. but managed to trap a couple of regular big stack bullies on a couple of hands and turned the 100 into about 400 and left ... couple of (well more like an hour of) hands of BJ on my way out, and my 100 starting roll from my 1st visit is about 700 now .... not bad for my 1st 2 visits to my new local casino

Not sure I want to risk going back ... now I can walk away a winner and tell all my friends what a good poker player I am ... lol . Actually the 1/3 NL tables were (as I reasearched on the fourms) a bit soft and there is opportunity to make some $$ so u better believe i'll be back there once my time frees up. If anyone is in western Pa or visiting shoot me an pm and i'd be happy to meet u there and/or also show u around town. Only cost to u might be having to eate one of those strange pramantie brother sandwiches with frenchfries and coleslaw on it . lol
