Rileys Re-Buy Tournament - Deja Vu

Rileys Re-Buy.

Well, well, well...

Last night was a solid night, played some good poker and ended up with another money finish - 4th place again to be precise.

The night looked grim, i was at quite frankly the worst possible table - aggressiveness personified and a few very astute players, but the 1st hour was a good one.

Blinds 50-100 at this stage.

3 hands in i pick up KJs in the BB. No raise.

Flop comes:

2-K-T

I fire 400 at it.

2 callers.

Turn was a 6.

I fire 750 at it.

2 callers.

River is a 8

I fire another 750.

1 player moves all in, the next calls. I call aswell.

First player shows K3, the 2nd shows AT.

I take it down with the Jack kicker.

Blinds at 100-200.

I get dealt QT in late position. I call.

3 players.

Flop comes:

Q-8-T

I fire 400 out. 1 call, 1 fold.

Turn is a 2.

I fire 650. Player calls.

River is an A.

I fire 1000. Player calls.

He turns over QJ.

I win with the 2 pair.

Blinds still at 100-200 - last hand of the session.

Again, i'm dealt QT, this time in the BB.

4 players.

Flop comes:

7-2-T

I bet 450.

3 calls.

Turn is another T. So the board is now 7-2-T-T

I check.

1st player bets 650.

2nd player moves all in for 900.

3rd player calls.

I move all in for 6500.

1st player folds.

3rd player folds.

2nd player shows 9-7.

River is an A. I win with the trip tens giving me around 12,000 at the break and i also add-on for £10 for an extra 2000. Giving me 14,000.

The next hour was dull, i played 3 hands. Winning nothing with AQs and getting nothing else until 6 minutes before the next break.

Blinds were now at 500-1000

I get 77 utg and just limp in. 4 players and the pot is around the 5000 mark.

Flop comes:

6-6-7

First guy bets 1200.

Second raises to 2400.

I move all in for the rest of my chips, around 7000.

Both fold? I pick up the pot, giving me around 16,000.

Next hand, i get AKs in late position. I bring it in for a raise of 3000.

2 callers, one player all in for an extra 500 on top. I call, the 2nd player calls. (The 2nd player being the big stack with around 65,000!

Flop comes:

2-3-4

I wanted to narrow it down to me and the all-inner. So i raise all in for around 14,000.

The other player calls. I'm think ((SHIT))...

1st player shows A7

2nd shows K6

I flip the AK over. And it held up! I took a pot, with Ace-King high for around 30,000+

Final Table

Again, i got nothing in the way of cards - i made a few plays to pick up the blinds and won maybe 5 hands pre flop. The blinds were 4000-8000 at this point.

It was down to 5 players.

Then within a moment, it was down to 4.

The blinds were now at 6000-12,000 and i had 23,000 left. My BB next.

I got dealt 10-6s. Not good by any means.

One player raises all in, an extra 14,000 to me, and i had 13,000 left.

Now, there was around 50,000 in the pot. So 5 to 1 on my money here.

I had two choices:

1. Fold, play my SB next hand leaving me with around 7000 to play with and hopefully catching a better hand.

2. Call with the 10-6s, hope to get lucky and win a monster pot and probably go onto win the tournament. I didn't want to settle for anything less than first, and this was my chance.

I called.

The guy turned over QQ to my 10-6 diamonds.

I didn't get lucky.

The Queens held up and i was out in 4th, winning £96. Not a bad night, and very enjoyable.

G-Man went out in a crazy hand, i didn't see it so can't detal exactly what happened but he wasn't happy to say the least - i'll let him fill you in on that.

Another good Tuesday rebuy, 4th now - consecutive Tuesdays, just got to finish in the top 3 for once :-)
