| Hi Scott, I'd advise one of two sites. A) Partypoker - the biggest poker site there is, plenty of beginners for you to take money off. If you use the CCHAT bonus code you get a bonus of 20% of your first deposit up to $100, or the code CCHAT25 for a flat $25 on any deposit you make. B) Noble Poker - they are a new site with incredible graphics and software, as well as a very good support team. They are offering a 100% deposit match bonus of up to $500 (if you go through our link). Hope this helps you make up your mind. |

| re: Real Money poker I play at Poker Stars and do really well, but just go to a few site if you like and get a feel of which one you feel more comfortable with. I would also advise you to get on the web and check out some of the sites that give advice about "tells" for internet poker, they are pretty helpful, since you can't actually see the people you are playing. Lastly and most important, the number one thing I have learned, and the thing that has helped me make money is: Stay away from big tourneys. I stick to 9 player tourneys, and I started at $5 and $10 9 player tourney's and have worked my way up and it has worked really well, the other thing is make sure that you know when it is a good day. If you are getting a lot of hands and you are seeing that you aren't flopping anything with them and haven't placed in the last one or two that you played, don't play any more, the cards are dead and it is not your day you will loose more money that way. If the cards are falling great and you are catching everything then don't stop, play your little heart out (lol) the cards are in your favor. Trust me I can't stress that enough. I have kept playing on days where I wasn't getting anything and it didn't change. One thing you have to remember about this though, there is a difference in dead cards and a bad beat. If you just play one game and you went all in with a full house and someone beat you with a higher full house or four of a kind then it still might be a good day to play just a bad beat. Try another and see how it turns out. I am sure you will notice what I am talking about once you have played a few times. Enough of my rambling I hope I have given you some good advice. You have come to the right site for the advice I can tell you that. If you ever go to Poker Stars look me up! Last edited by tinivy : 17th May 2005 at 3:34 PM. |
