Reached Step 6 - EPT on Stars Hey Guys, First post ever on any site for me, so not sure how this will go. Anyway, grinded my way on Stars from Step 2 and got my Step 6 ticket. I have not played it yet as I wanted to try for another so that I can play with less stress knowing that I have a 2nd shot. So, just grinded again and got a 2nd Step 6 ticket. Now just wondering which of the 2 I should go for - the Monte Carlo or the Copenhagen Event ? I'm leaning on trying Copenhagen as there will be 9 instead of 10 players and prizes for Top 3 versus Top 2. Any feedback/suggestions/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm assuming it will be your first event , Monte Carlo is the main event and is 20k instead of 10k buy in i think. So thats why its top 2 instead of 3. I'd go for copenhagen personally. It will probs be easier online and if you make it the live field won't be so tough either, most of the top pros play the grand final but few of them the circuit.

Thanks for the advice Chippy. I was leaning the same. More odds, more cash prizes, makes more sense overall I think. Like you said, probably easier field IF I make it. Live, I've played in quite a few local private tourneys and have done quite well, but never played a major one. Actually won a WSOP Step 6 in '08 and decided to take cash, fly out with wifey and play side games instead of playing Main Event. I ran like God at Belaggio for a week straight playing 2/5. It was my first trip to Vegas and absolutely loved it. I'll post my results. I'll prob play them this weekend.

Well I just tried one of my Step 6 tickets tonight...we were down to 4 pl ...one big chip leader and i was short stacked with everyone else we each had approx 5,000 left with chip leader at 9,000..blinds 400-800...stole a few times on button with avg hands late in game to survive then picked up AK on Button..shoved again and chip leader insta-calls with A-10 in SB...10 came on flop and that's all she wrote. Bubble Will likely attempt my 2nd ticket tomorrow night. Will keep you posted.

| Hey Everyone, I did it. I just won my Step 6 Copenhagen EPT. I'm batting .500 with Step 6 as I went 1 for 2 with EPT Step 6 and 1 for 2 with WSOP 2008 Step 6. Wish me luck. I will post how I do when I get back at the end of Feb. For those, who haven't tried Steps yet, you should. Buy In to Step 2 or 3 and grind it like I did. It can be frustrating at times, but stick with it and never ever give up. With a little patience and focus, and of course some sound understanding of the game, it is definitely doable. Good Luck.
