Rakeback - Is it worth it to switch sites for? So, just a little question for you all: I have an account with Poker Nordica (Merge Network), that has 35% rakeback. The only problem with this is that I don't like the software, the slim game selection, and the competition is, well, merge network competition -- soft, but occasionally frustrating. I play mainly on Full Tilt, though I signed up way before I knew what rakeback even was, or why it would be advantageous to have it. I like almost everything about Full Tilt, though the competition is pretty strong. I read somewhere that you could just message support and have them attach you to a rakeback promo code if you didn't sign up with one, but I think I read somewhere that they stopped allowing that a while back. So I'm kind of stuck in a rough place. I know rakeback adds up even for a low-stakes player like myself. The question is, would it be worth it to switch to playing regularly at a site I almost can't stand just to get the rakeback?

There's a few other sites/networks available to American players which also offer rakeback. Might be worth checking them out. Rakeback certainly helps out quite a bit. If you need any more info just shoot me a pm and I'll point you in the right direction.

I just wanted to say thanks to you all -- I just got my FT account approved for rakeback! I never would have even tried, based on all the "you can't do it with an existing account" stuff that I had read elsewhere. Glad you guys knew what's up.

Yeah, I was surprised. I e-mailed bonus/promotion support, and they said that they didn't offer RB directly to players, so they sent my info to an affiliate (RakeBackPros), and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait until RBPs contacted me first or not, so I just went ahead and created an account on their site (They have a process for players w/o rakeback), and then within 24 hours I got a response. Pretty crazy, but maybe it'll work for you?

I went through this with FTP like two months ago. They originally told me the usuall stuff about that I am not eligible and that I should play anyway. Only after I have been quite asertive and wrote them that I dont like em and am leaving and play a lot of raked hands on other site, they wrote to me, that they cannot do anything for me, but maybe something for people in my situation could be figured out as they are right now working on some options and I should wait. In about a week they came with an offer to sign for standard rakeback at rakebackpros. I am mentioning this because my experience was very far from smooth and quick deal. So it may be, that they actually really changed the policy towards this just recently and from then they take it as standard to sign up with rakebackpros even for existing accounts. (now I only need to win in some freeroll to actually have the money to generate rake with :-)))

Anyway why do you think that Merge si softer than FTP? I thought(and may be wrong as I got it just by gossip in the forums) that the big sites generally are a level or two higher than the small ones. |

Have tried on few rakeback sites and never been able to get an existing account with FTP. Built up quite few points over the years and haven't used them. Much prefer the cash back in the account than the points. Did you have to back another small deposit to get that to kick in?
