Question about bankroll for Limit live games Hi all, I had a question about what should your bankroll be for a 4/8 limit HE Live table. Where the DH and I go to play live the minimum buy in is $40.00. But that just seems way too small for trying to sit in for any length of time. The last two times I sat in on one of these games I played only in position unless it was a strong starting hand and I was out of the game in 2 hands.(got sucked out on, look somewhere for my previous limit post) Does anyone play limit and how many blinds do you like to start off with?

When I play live action 4/8 in vegas I always start out with a rack of chips ($100.00). When playing 2/4 when my Dad plays or Gizzi the first 2 times I go for 40.00 or 50.00 buy-ins. Everyone has their preferences but I like lots of bullets for when the monster arrives.....................Rock

You generally want to sit down with 25x the Big Bet in a limit game. So in 4/8, you would want $200. As for a bankroll if you are consistently playing a particular limit, 200-300 Big Bets is reccomended. I would never consider buying into a game for the minimum, and there are many many many reasons why.

I'm with Cubs here. When I go to play at Crown Casino I like to take at least 25 times the big bet to the table. You can theoretically lose 12 big bets in one hand. If you take a hit in one hand you still want to be able to come out swinging if you get a good hand on the next. Rocka
