pureplay.com

i'v been there 1 year.

i have won $420 to date, which means i'm playing for free ......

i started playing there becuase it seemed like a safe place to learn to play holdem with out the risk of loossing lots of money.

i think it's the the perfect site to do that.

the site need much improvement ..

there are lots of free roles for free play an many more and bigger cash prizes forpaying members..

if you can play decent game you should be able to win cash.....i'm playing there as i write this and i wao $10 just a few mins. ago.

My question is, why would you play at a site that charges you what essentially boils down to a "membership" fee, when there are plenty of sites where you can play for free in comparison?

You can play there for free also, you just can't play the larger freerolls. I just cashed a check for $20.

So then, they aren't really freerolls, are they? Why not take that same amount you use for "membership" and enter some guaranteed buy-in tournaments?

You can play $10 hourly winner take all or weekly $500 freeroll tournaments without buying a membership. To play in the $2000 and $5000 weekly and numerous other dayly tournaments you need to buy a membership. I have not paid them anything, I'm to cheap.

Freak was talking about this at my table in the FT buyin. Apparently you play for points.

Do you accumulate points then cash them in?

That fee is for the VIP Club. Doing that tends to keep the ATC (Any Two cards) players out so that you can possibly have a more enjoyable game. Just like places that have live freerolls in your local establishments, they have cash games on the side. This keeps probably 95% of your freeloaders out and you don't get the players that go all-in every hand.

well they pay out over $100,000 in cash prizes now where can you find that kind money any where else on the internet for so little in investment.......last 6 days in won a $10 ,$20 tourn and placed 78th in 5k for $10 34th in 2 k for $10 and 8th in 1k for $25 thats $75 to bring my total up to $475 im playing for free for another year so all the money is good money. there is lots of money to be had there .....i also feel that i have developed a strong solid competive game and have not had to suffered any out of pocket loss of money doing so. cant think of a better deal than that........they have tightened up the game play in the last few weeks an the game play is much much better.....

Well I joined a little while ago. I beleive there is over 700K US members there.

I never paid for the membership but you can still play in the FR's with points to start you off with. There are higher money games if you purchase the membership. 20 bucks a month or something.

They started me with 100pts and I used 45 points in a FR. The next day I went there and had 100pts to start with, so I guess they top it up daily.

One thing that pissed me off tho, being not in the members club is I had to put up with all the spam and bullshit and my comp didn't like it. I'm sure or hope it wouldn't be there if I paid for membership, therefore it made it hard for me to play.

I guess having a pentium 2 with windows 2000 don't help

I have played it...was referred by a relative who doesn't like much risk.
Signed up for a membership but have already gotten my money back before the 14 day free trial was over.
I did NOT see a difference between the play of the "members club" players and the strictly "freeroll" players.
Both suck monkey balls.........

When you are a member you do not have the spam on the side of your screen however......and the prizes are a bit more lucrative.
Overall though the site is o.k. but the players are just truly horrible and probably will do more to hurt your game than help it.

Pure play is pure crap IMO! They let you win some small amounts in the beginning, then you begin to get booted from larger tourneys. They have people there (0000laird0000, 01seahawk, etc) that have control of the software, and the power to boot players, yet are allowed to play in the tournies. It has the appearance of a rigged site, and pays out very little in order to appear legite. If you play there I would not sign up for membership.

I've been a member there and seem to always hold on and get a high rating but never win much cash-I joined clububt.com and won 3 times as much there in 2 months than I won all year at pureplay.com. If you are willing to constantly go all-in and take a risk you can win there but you have to be lucky. You play with 2,000 people, come in at 29th place and don't win a dime. I will probably cancel-they now say they are giving away more money-they have 700,000 members-and a chance to win a seat to a major Las Vegas tournament-1 thing I noticed though-Maybe a fluke, but I doubt it-for 8 months I never got 4 of a kind-then all of a sudden I was hitting 4 of a kind over and over. Strange.

what i'v noticed reguarding that all in crap

i was put off by all that all in crap also, but i have noticed a sort of pattern......when i logon at different times i'v noticed that there are different types of players at the site...sometimes a lot of allinners an other times lots of regular players and somethimes a mix of all different players... although i have'nt noticed any consistant time pattern that when you'll find any one of the above mentioned groups of players so you can avoid them....i am watching close to see if can detect one.....if and when i do i'll post what i find here........with the $50,000 added monthy payouts i think it's worth a few more months of seeing how the new changed will affect the game play over all

STAY AWAY FROM PURE PLAY

Having been there as a paid member for 3 years , and cashing $$$ to pay for the membership plus each year , i can only say "STAY AWAY"!
I COMPARE IT TO PLAYING BINGO ...MY STATS SHOW THAT THE RIVER WILL WIN ....a non winning hand will win on the river 82% of the time. It will kill your skills , thank goodness i do play in $$$ games , not online , that allows me to improve my skills.
How can you have 34 "WORLD SERIES QUALIFIER" games each evening and only 3 semi finals each evening...the last one being at 11:40 pm.! What are the odds to have the exact same hand 4 times in a row....what are the odds for the "river card" to beat the 3 pair , 2 of a kind and straights ...6 times in a row in one game of only 9 players? What are the odds to be dealt 2-9,10-2,J-3,Q-3,K-2,ace -2, and repeat them exactly the same for the 12 straight hands you are dealt?
What used to be cash ganes up to 500 players , are now 2,00 players.
Check out the big $$$ winners ..seems they have a "pure play" in so to speak, and they are the ones telling the Blogs how "great the site is!"....you can summarize for your self!
When my membership runs out this year end , i am gone!...still searching for a more "REAL" site!

I made an account on PurePlay because it was an application on Facebook, so I decided to try it out haha. Yes, there are freerolls, but the site sucks. The membership fee is stupid, and just everything about PurePlay is lame. I played like 2 touraments there and called it quits. Probably one of the worst sites I've ever been on.
I'm sticking with FullTilt, Pokerstars, and UltimateBet
