PS VIP Status Display

Looks like PokerStars has finally added the feature to display your VIP status level. It's off by default, so you have to opt-in to display and see the Star Level.

What do people think? I'm not sure why people would want to hide it. I guess it either gives you more or less action, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on your style. The location of it isn't great, though, as it overlaps the notes icon.

Just saw it myself, kinda cool to be a bronze star Also shows in the lobby

I also just noticed a red thingy at the tables for last hand replay lol

I think it's foolish to display your skill level, especially when it is high.

Star level does not equal skill level, imo. I think it has to do with stakes level and hours of play. A player could be spewing chips at 200NL and still be earning tons of VPP's to make a higher Star level.

I would equate it to displaying your Iron Man chip at FT (which I do). I really don't think it make a damn bit of difference.

Did they implement the auto-rebuy as well?

But, it's not a skill level, is it? It's just a product of how much you play, and at what stakes. Believe me, I've got stats on some multi-table regs who are grinding lots of hands, and are big losers. And I'm sure there are a few Platinum or Supernovas who are regular depositors.

The auto-rebuy for a full stack amount is NOT in this update. Sucks. The display your VIP status is in this update. I think being new at pokerstars it might have some effect early on, and as time goes on it will dilute the meaning. I mean if I saw a SNE at a 25nl table i'd probably move on. I put a lot more faith in my numbers from HEM than I would someone's ranking.

I don't know. I'd assume he/she was dropping down to try something new, and might be dead money.

Here's one for the conspiracy nuts. Since setting my star level to display, I've been running at 22.46 PTBB/100. Looks like the first few to try out the new feature get some free luck.

Although the VIP level indicator is not unbinding testament to one's ability at the poker table it does give me a pretty good picture that the higher the VIP level, the better the player or they are very rich. Because part of the VIP system is based on hands played and if you are a donk your luck will quickly yield to a bleeding bankroll and another deposit.
