| PS screen resolution hi all, i cant get PS to go fullscreen. when i maximize it there is a gap on both sides of the screen. i can drag the side of the table to make it bigger but then the chat box disappears below the bottom of the screen. with fulltilt i could maximize the table and it would fill the screen but leave the taskbar visible. is there any way to get this setting on pokerstars ? thanks |

| If you try dragging the side of the table, you will find that the bottom edge moves as well, just as if you were dragging the corner. This maintains the aspect ratio so that the window is always the same basic shape. I believe that it will not be possible to push (too far) beyond this ratio as it will result in stretching the table out. Whilst this is acceptable in the client where longer boxes for the table lists etc. will look fine, it wouldn't work on the tables as the avatars would be stretched and distorted. I think if you have a very wide aspect screen, you have to accept that somethings were meant to be squarer. Many You Tube clips have a 4:3 aspect ratio and always show a blank band on each side, I wonder do you have similar issues with the widescreen clips on full screen? |

| Update: As a member of our Product Development team describes it, the reason you're getting bands is that the aspect ratio of the table must remain 4:3 when resizing. So when you maximize the tables, it will resize to the point it can without hiding any elements of the table and without violating the 4:3 aspect ratio. The reason for this is so that the table does not stretch as the graphics would then start looking strange. Based on the monitor set up (size and position of task bar etc.), you will be able to simply get to the max vertical height and then horizontally it will expand so that it is still a 4:3 aspect ratio. Unfortunately this often can leave some bands on both sides of the table. Dylan |

| full tilt would maximize and fill the whole screen, but leave the taskbar visible. no stretching, no distortion, aspect ratio perfect, etc. for as long as i've been playing online (approx 3 years). you may need to set the aspect ratio to 16.9 can you do that ? all the other sites i use (PS included) never maximize properly. they either maximize to a box, or, if you set them on fullscreen they expand over the whole desktop (no taskbar). can't you get whoever did the FT software and give them a job ? | re: PS screen resolution poker As a software developer, I can tell you that this is very difficult to implement well give the design of poker software in general. While many UI designs -- to include most general purpose software we use on a daily basis -- can easily support custom aspect-ratios, typical poker client UI's are poorly suited due to scaling issues. There's a lot of stuff going on the screen than cannot be distorted or scaled in certain ways and still remain intact or readable, therefore strict aspect ratios must be maintained. This was the same with FT as I recall -- granted it's been awhile since I played there (being a US player), but I played there for years and remember their aspect ratio being fixed as well. Given the critical fact of there being people's money at stake, you can't risk distorting a client to where bet sizes can't be easily read, buttons and sliders easily clicked, etc. |

| hi dylan, dont want to be a nusance, but here are some more suggestions to improve your software. 1. ICM calcutator. when players are discussing a deal you do not provide an ICM calculator. the options to chop should be (a)chip ratio. (b)ICM. (c)custom. i watched the final table of the PS wcoop main event. the players where trying to do a deal and it took them ages to get the ICM calculations because $100k had to be set aside for the winner. this seemed ridiculous to me. 2. chip graphic. when players make a large bet the 'chip graphic' obscures table info. 3. the $ sign should not be displayed on tourny and s'n'g chip stacks. they are not dollars, they are tounament chips. i've emailed support about this and had a reply, tho it is not a big issue, i just think it is incorrect. anyway, i sound like a moaning old fart. these are just issues i have noticed. thanks for taking the time to reply to my queries. have a great day. |

Full screen was never an issue for me because I never played one table. Or if I do play one table, it's because I'm doing something else on the computer at the same time. If I'm only playing poker, especially cash games, I can't play less than 4 tables unless for exceptional cases like a CC League game, where I try not to be distracted by much else. When I played on FT, it was usually 9-16 tables cash or 4-6 tables SnGs. So full screen was never a concern for me. I have no way to back it up, but I would be surprised if a significant percentage of online poker players played one table maximized to full-screen, which could explain why most rooms don't bother to optimize for it. |

when/if i find a poker client that can be bothered to optimize graphic options, that will be the room for me. in the meantime, i suppose i'll have to persevere with these inferior poker clients. hopefully FT may get ressurected. thanks for the replies m8. |

| If you or (PS techs) did manage to stretch the table to 16:9, I'm not sure that it would be optimized. All you would achieve is more space between the various table screen elements. The graphics (cards, avatars, etc) wouldn't get larger because they wouldn't get taller. Here's a little tip that I think is a much better use of that space If you push your maxed table over to one side, (may not be possible in maximized mode, but it is if you drag the restored table large) then you will have room on the other side for the detatched chat box, stretch it vertically and you will be able to view chat, player notes, stats and info all at the same time. I'd rather have all that info on view than a 'spread out' table |

| just tried that m8 maximized screen ,then dragged it to left side of desktop. detached chat and put that on right side of desktop. there is a slight overlap but definitely an improvement. thanks m8 Last edited by tcummo : 28th September 2011 at 10:35 PM. Reason: typo |
