So I sat in at the 10nl tables today and apparently messed up and opened a 5nl table as well. But the buy-in was still $10, rather than the expected $5. Is this exclusive to 5nl? Why the strange max buy-in? (and it hurt me too, first hand AA got all-in with JJ and he flopped a J)

I dont think i understand. Do you mean you sat at a table with .05$ big blind but you could buy in for 10$, effectively 200 big blinds. If so that is odd

Try it for yourself, pokerstars full ring 2c/5c blinds have a min of $2 and a max of $10. Isn't that what it is for 5c/10c?

It's true and almost as bad as 1c/2c where you can buyin for 250bbs . PS clearly do it to stimilulate action - rigged I tells ya! They also have deepstacked tables higher up the limits though... The trouble is that the min. buyin is the same as the 10nl table as well so it's completely mental, in fact I'm not sure if it should be referred to as 10nl or 5nl

I think all tables should have a max buyin of 200bb.

Not sure of the reasoning for it, but ya they allow 250BB stacks at 1c/2c and apparently 200BB stacks at 2c/5c as well.

I wouldn't mind deeper stacked play myself as a mixup. Implied odds are fun :)

Talking about action, yesterday (Thursday) there is a 1c/2c all-in table (6 max). The only play is all-in and auto reload to max ($5) if lost. One guy made 1K in less than one hour on this 1c/2c table.

hmmm, 6 players all iin every hand for 33 hands
each hand has 30$ on table over 33 hands
it is possible but he would have had to have gotten real lucky close to the end of the seccion

Yes it's $1,000. When he got over $500, he only needs to win 1 out of 5 hands to take everyone's money.
