| Private online poker tournament software? Hello, I am hoping you guys can help me figure out the best way to set up a monthly online tournament with friends. I do not want to use any of the online gaming sites because you have to sign up, deposit money, etc. I am pretty much just looking for software to host the tournament. I have found a couple of apps but before I spend money on any of them, I wanted to see if anyone here has tried them or knows any recommendations. My first concern is cost, because we are all amateur, and this is totally for fun. Poker Mavens -- The cost is OK. $30 for the server module and the client modules are free. the only concern is that there is a 9 person limit. DD Poker -- Sounds good, but everyone would have to shell out $20 to purchase the software. Poker Academy -- I THINK this will work, but if I understand it correctly, I will have to spend $120 for the pro version, then everyone will have spend $20-$30 for the standard version to play. It looks like it also allows the players to use the PA tools and calculators to help them in the tournament, and I would rather not have that as part of the game. Not that I would mind if they used tools like that on their own. It is really hard to do a search on this because all the keywords pull up on the online gambling sites. And all the simulators, although I am sure they would help me become a better poker player, offer more than I want. Any ideas? Last edited by juiceeQ : 27th October 2006 at 6:01 AM.
