Preferred seating on PS!

I don't know if it necessarily makes a difference but it seems like it has. I noticed that you can choose where you would like to sit whenever you get on a table (preferred seating) so i chose seat 5.

I noticed that i would win 1 out of every 6 SNGs. So i decided to take off the preferred seating, and just play where they sat me.

Ive noticed that i am now 3 for 4. I dont know if it matters, but i would like to know if it actually does or does not? Any advice would be great! Seems like i tend to get better cards.

I have thought about that, but playing multi tables, I choose a preferred seat so i know exactly where Im at on all tables. May try to random seat on one or two tables and record my results.Ill get back to you on that...

I think irts juss a gimmick,You dont see brick and motor casinos do it do you?

I don't think that has any affect on the out come of the hand due to fact the dealer position is all ways changing.

No effect on outcome, imo. I use preferred seating on Stars and Full Tilt and have built withdrawable balances on my BR at both sites and I have never deposited on ANY poker site.

Not true for all games. In stud format games, the dealer remains the same, never changes. What does change is the 'bring-in' hand... but not the dealer.

seat 5, slick light theme ! Although sometimes I'll sit in seat one and grab chips from the tray when the dealer isn't looking. I'm right handed and quick !

I just feel ever since i switched it from preferred seating, i have been doing alot better. Maybe my bad luck just ended at the same time or something.

It doesn't matter if you use preferred seating or not. It's the same, you're actually sitting in the same seat regardless. With preferred seating on, from your prospective you think you are sitting in seat five, however, you could actually be sitting in seat one. Does that make sense?

Yeah it makes sense. Are you positive though? I can see the perspective thing, i just didnt know if maybe every time you sat at the table it was always seat 5 or not.

Sitting at seat 5 is an illusion. Everybody at the table can be sitting at seat 5. It only controls where your seat is on the screen.

Mid-game you can even change seats. If you move to the left, everybody will appear to shift one seat to the left.

Okay awesome! That definately makes sense. Thanks everyone! It's been bothering me lately, so i guess ill go back to checking my spots for preferred seating.
