PP fees

I don't play on PP much but I've just entered one of their tournaments.

It's a $2k guaranteed which costs $6 to enter. It says 'fee included'. When you actually pay to enter it becomes clear the fee is $1. So you're paying $5 to enter and a $1 fee - 20 per cent.

This seems very steep and the way it is presented is kind of sneaky. Other sites would be more upfront with what the fees are in their lobby and a 10 per cent fee is more usual.

What do you think?

Unless you are getting 70% of your rakeback via rakeback (duh!), I wouldn't play there.

This seems to be the new norm...Mohegan Sun in Connecticut had a tournment where they advertised "$1000 buy-in with NO fees" guaranteed $1,000,000.00 payout. They then took out $250,000 of the purse for administration "fees"...people were , needless to say, a little pissed.

In the tournament I played 438 people entered - meaning PartyPoker made $438 for staging one online event. If you add that to the fees from all the other tournaments they stage each day, that's an awful lot of dosh.

This is why I play 10 + 1 Tournaments there, anything under 11 dollars is 20%, a big ripoff.

I played on Party when they allowed US customers, and the fee was always a dollar for there $5 SNGs and MTTs. They use to state the fee separately.They think people will notice or care less not knowing.

However, some sites due charge a larger fee for the smaller SNGs and MTTs. Poker Stars charges a $.20 fee on their $1 SNGs, but only $.10 on their $1 MTTs. Pitbull Poker have the highest fees of any site(on SNGs). They charge a $.05 for a $.10 SNG.

Party Poker was one of the first rooms I joined.

I really wish I had known about rakeback prior to rushing and joining up as i get nuffin in the way of rakeback. As a result i dont play there very often.

In General, Live Tournaments collect much higher in Fees for Tournys--although pretty darn misleading advertising, I would be pissed also

I think Party Poker should be much more upfront with their fees. The way they do it now is kind of sly.

I think the tournament lobby does show the fee nowadays... But the fees on PP are quite big (something like a three dollar tourney is 2.4 + 0.6 = 40% when most sites are 3+.3 = 10%)

The standard House Vig is at or around 10%, high stakes tourny buy in e.i. W.S.O.P. Main Event is $10,000.00 + $1,500.00 in 2006. On top of the house Vig for this event, 3% of the prize purse is deducted for administration "fees" and dealer payouts. It's a little obvious Party Poker Inc. isn't attracting majority share of online players as of late henceforth the large Vig clip.
