PokerStars warning

A few days ago, I registered for a low buy-in, 18 player SnG at PokerStars. When the tourney started, I was not seated. When I tried to access my seat via "Registered in Tournaments", it was grayed out. I was forced to quit the app and log in again. When I did, I was taken to the wrong table and could not find my seat. Had to open the lobby and seat myself. Lost at least 3 minutes of play.

I complained to the so-called support. Sent them my log files, as requested. They claimed that I had either closed my game window or disconnected and so could not be seated. Sure, I'm an idiot; I would register for an SnG and then do something to lock myself out. Of course, they conveniently ignore the fact that other than "Registered in tournaments" all the other menu items were working fine AND that when I logged in again I was taken to the wrong table.

Ironically, that day I was about to deposit at PS. I took the snafu and their bs respose as a sign never to trust them with my money.

Sorry you had a bad experience. If you feel 3 minutes of lost SNG time is worth dropping the site (or rather, you just feel the support's response is ominous), do what you must, but I'd urge you to give it another chance. There is a reason it is essentially the most popular site out there.

sometimes it will run slow if you are on wireless or sattelite connections. Do you have one of those? i sujest ethernet for the wireless or just get a broadband line.

Yes but

While my wireless connection may have been responsible for the initial snafu, it had nothing to do with my being taken to the wrong table.

Glitches do happen from time to time. I can say that in my experience, Poker Stars has far and away the best support team. And believe, I've dealt with a lot of sites' support. Stars' pwns, IMO.

If you think Stars is bs, you'll probably complain about every other site.

I only have good things to say about pokerstars support. I own a mac and one time had a problem with a software update that affected MAC"S only ( this was before they developed the mac client) 2 question and answer emails later ( and 2 days later) they had a fix and I was playing again. Remember they are integrating mac and windows software on the same overall system right now.
No small task. I'm sure glitches happen. And it happened to you. Three minutes lost in a SNG is no big deal. If you want real frustration try dealing with Ultimate Bet support.... They left me hanging for four months with a software issue and I HAD money on deposit there and could not access it let alone play any poker.
IMO pokerstars support is head and shoulders above the rest.

Are you kidding? I've emailed pokerstars with all sorts of questions from deposits/cashouts to clarifying the rules of a poker game. I have ALWAYS gotten a response within 24 hours. I usually send an email at night and by the time I wake up I have a response. One night I got a response in 20 minutes. Full tilt took about a week when I tried and I'm still waiting from Ultimate Bet when they claim they will respond within 48 hours. They've got about 5 hours to make good on that one.

By the way, I know this is the internet and all, but I'd try to refrain from making threats, as they are illegal and I'm sure there's a log of your IP somewhere that if someone wanted to sue could get a court order for it to be released. You are anonymous if you want to be a jerk online, not if you want to make actual threats, which this seems to be (also I would advise the mods to delete the last sentence).

If you can't deal with that small snafu do not play at bodog. Their software is not reliable.

In regard to Stars and their problems: I'm sure all of you remember when their site went down (as did FT's, that same day) in the middle of the Sunday Millions. Anyone who was in that game and/or other games got their buy-ins back and the $$ in the pools remaining from those who were knocked out prior to the breakdown was distributed according to chipstacks. Same with FT. I commend them both for their fair way of dealing with outahes. Give them another chance.

IMO and experience PS, is the est site on the net, for everything. Software is by far the most reliable, and so is support.

Ok they made a minor mistake, but with the 2nd most players consistently online, they can be allowed to make a minor error from time to time, and remember if it had meant you had sat out the whole tourney and lost, they would have refunded your buy in, because I've seen it happen to others, and IMHO that is class handling of the situation.

If you moan about this, you're going to moan about every minor problem that comes your way... so give them another chance!

Yes, give them another try. Where else are you going to go? There are not many sites with such volume. And you can trust them they are not going to take off with your money, as many sites have done. Happened 5 times to me, last time with Big Juicy Odds.

zachvac, how is his last sentence a threat? I think everyone can complain and say what they intend to do.

Hold on just a minute! First you say it was a "low buy-in SnG", then you say you were about to make a deposit and that this incident is a "sign never to trust them with my money".

If you've never put money on the site before, was this a freeroll or play money or a FPP game? If not, then that means that you've already trusted them with your money. This part of the post confuses me.

Also, as others have mentioned, if losing 3 minutes of a 18-player SnG bothers you THAT much, then you need to stop playing online poker at all and if you are going to complain or try to sway others to "your side" of a situation, at least provide all the information from the beginning. It wasn't until half way through the thread that the initial problem was probably caused by your own connection (not PokerStars related, at all).

Just my two cents worth!

Just my 2p but I have recently gone back to PS from PKR and believe me the difference is worlds apart. I've yet to have a crash out or complete freeze on Poker Stars where as PKR I rarely played a session where it didn't happen, even whole tourny's freezing minutes before the start only to be listed again without you knowing! I've yet to contact the support team or them to issue me with a refund for failed games and that says it all.
