Pokerstars vs Full Tilt Hey everyone, I haven't made my OWN post in awile and finally got a topic that I'm interested in hearing different perspectives on. I currently play 1/2 and sometimes 2/5 NL at my local casino. On average for the past 3 months my profit equals out to be $11.20 per hour played. This includes my gas costs back and forth. I was hoping I could move my BR online and see some improvements on my $ per hour played, Save on gas and multi tabling. Here is where the topic comes into play, I am not sure which site to deposit on and I don't want to do both, I think I would be more focused on one site. I have an account with both Full Tilt and Pokerstars already and my FT account doesn't have a rakeback. I am hoping to play $10-$20 9-MAN sngs and some MTT around the same buy in. I have already invested in HEM, so all I have to decide is which site to play on? Which site do you guys like more and would suggest? and why?

There are actually quite a few threads on the PS vs FT decision. I will leave this one open for now - but it turns into a rakeback at FT discussion I will close it. |

re: Pokerstars vs Full Tilt I know you said you want to pick one but if you like MTT then I would recommend putting most of your money on one but having some on the other just gives you more options when it comes to MTT. Just a thought.

Even though those are the biggest sites it would never hurt to open account elsewhere. Bodog would be my first suggestion. New sites = new bonus= more $'s. On top of that if ya get sick of playing and want to gambol a little they have casino and sportsbook (which also attracts many fish!). Just a suggestion.

Gday, My site of choice would have to be Full Tilt. Why, Well, if you are planning on making this a long term thing, then, Full tilt has a lot of other incentives, PROMOS, and the like. To start with ther is the Full Tilt Academy, in this section you complete challanges for points, (which can be redeemed for prezzies), much like the Full Tilt store. Happy hour is one of my favourites, double points, Rush Poker Ring Game, what more could you ask for. There is always Iron Man, for the serious poker player, this is the only are I have not yet full done, but there is a one-a-day freeroll that is easy enough to go for. USE THIS THREAD TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT IRON MAN Iron Man: Use it, it's free!!! Also, I have found that that the chat at Poker Stars is very hard to use, it goes from box to box while you are typing, plus on Full Tilt it is a lot easier to take NOTES. All the best at the tables Big-Jamo

Hmm.... are there any responses on this thread to OP's question? I haven't found any. OP... when you say "SNG" what exactly are you referring to? (9plyr? 9plyr Turbo? 6max, 27's, 45's?). For myself the answer would be easy > Fulltilt!!! But this is because I'd prefer to play the 45's & like the structure in the FTP games (Stars 45's are pretty much all Turbo). Also, 'no antes' in FTP SNG's which I also prefer. For STT... I'd rate both similiarly (although I prefer FTP.. but then again these days I don't play TURBO STT & that's partly why I prefer FTP). Depends on what you're thinking of playing imo. As far as MTT goes.... both would be similiar imo. Larger field sizes on Stars for $10freezeouts & $3-$5 rebuys. Fulltilt also has 'superstacked' $10's & a bunch of the $24+2 MTT's (< which can also be satellited into... .something I don't find on Stars (sattys into low buyin MTT's). If I were you though, I'd play on both. This way I could have a few MTT's going on from FTP at the same time as a few on Stars (all in & around same buyin levels & running at same (or similiar) start times). Scan the lobbies of both... check it out for both 'running' & 'completed'.. check the structures in them. This might help you make up your mind & also to be able to see which site offers up MTTs that fit in with your own schedule.

"I am hoping to play $10-$20 9-MAN sngs and some MTT around the same buy in." Ok folks, I believe this ^ is what OP has intentions of playing. So whether or not one site has better freerolls than the other.. or one has RUSH poker or not.. 'might' not be of significant importance??? (sorry OP.. didn't see where you wrote '9-man' ).

For me, it's a tossup. I love FTP's SNG structures alot better. As well as the number of games and formats that they offer. But on the flip side I'm becoming more of a fan of Stars' MTT structures. Sure Stars has larger fields, but they have more guarantee tourneys at the lower limits than FTP. I don't play cash so I cannot speak on that matter. It's down to the matter of which format you prefer I suppose. For SNG, I'd go FTP all the way (and rakeback is nice). For MTT, I'd go Stars. Personally I have a healthy BR on both so I get my MTT fix at Stars and blast some SNG at FTP...

TBH this is what fully brought me over to FTP. I can't barely stand Stars's graphics anymore on any theme. Don't know why. I'm sure it's subliminal. |

re: Pokerstars vs Full Tilt I would go with FT, aside from your own preferences, you will find a better selection of games should you decide to branch out. The graphics on FT are better and you can vary them. Also if your are in the mood for some quick action, there is rush poker but.......???? As for Rake back, if you have joined Full Tilt directly through their site you can then use rakebackpros to get a rake back account (highly recommended at your levels) Hope this helps and Good Luck
