Pokerstars VPIP Q??? ok so i play exclusively at full tilt..but after being denied rakeback i think i wanna transfer my funds over to Pokerstars. My question is about their VPIPs. how do they work? like compared to fulltilts FTPs. Fulltilts FTPs work as such: for every dollar of rake i pay i get 7 points Pokerstars VIPs work as such: i have no idea i used to search engine here on CC and didn see any threads that jumped out that would discuss it. Also i looked through the pokerstars site which was under maintenance when i tried to look for it. thanks in advance

Well here is a good link: http://www.pokerstars.com/vip "In PokerStars tournaments, you earn points based on the entry fee. You receive VPPs at the rate of 5.5 VPPs (and corresponding FPPs) for each $1.00 USD in fee paid, or 8 VPPs (and corresponding FPPs) for each €1.00 EUR in fee paid. Fractional VPPs will be awarded in hundredths." Cash tables is a little different, http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/earn/#HowdoIearnVPPs

I think it is 5.5 for every $1 in rake - at least it is for tournaments and sng's. But as you move up in status you get more. You start as a bronze star. If you earn 750 vpp's in a month you move up to silver - then you get 1.5 fpp's for every vpp earned. It continues to improve as you move up and so do the benefits. They also have the VIP stellar rewards now. You need to read about all of this in detail at their site - it is too much info for a thread. http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/?utm_id=3

I don't know why FT will not reward older accounts with rakeback. I attempted to sign up for it (cashed out my account in '05) and it was a no go. I guess all those fancy commercials they run are bringing in enough new accounts that they don't need us older accounts. I've been playing at PS money tables and I think the reward system is going to be better than FT for sure.

Found this: http://fpppro.com/vpp-per-hand-NLHE.php You get VPP's for every hand you're dealt in at the table, above link gives approximations of VPP's per hand (they're approximations cuz it's based on rake, just like at FT). Accruing VPP's allows you to ladder statuses - everyone starts at bronze status, highest status is supernova elite. Your status dictates the FPP's you earn - it's one FPP per VPP, accelerated by your status - see here: http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/tiers/ FPP's are what you use to buy stuff w, including cash bonuses (the substitute for rb at PS).
