This morning I got this email from pokerstars. Now I am a beginning player at micro limits, also I am not very familiar with how the FPP and VPP points work. Is this something that is even feasable for me to be able to accomplish with out 8 tabling for 10 hours a day until the end of the month?

Dear Steveg1976,

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]We have credited your account with 750 VIP Player Points (VPPs). This is a gift to welcome you to PokerStars and to introduce you to the VIP Club.

Id say forget about this for the time being. I got nowhere near reaching silverstar until i got to nl$25, and even then it was by 4 tabling. There is a way however to turn them FPPs you just got into money, by entering sateilleites and unreging if you win a seat. Thats probably your best bet with them.

Thanks Tenbob, I had a feeling that would be the case. That I play a limits to low to make this reasonably possible.

I received a similar email and points this week. I thought it was in sympathy for losing my entire $3.48 bankroll over the last month.

As cynical as it may sound (born a cynical old man remember :p) free money/points is an attempt to get you to play at their site and not someone elses.

Most offers of 'free' moey/points will often involve you having to stretch your BR or safety zone a little to reach and so often costs more to achieve the goal than the actual prixe itself.

I agree with Tenbob. Forget about the points for now.
You get one point when there is $.40 in rake. That means it need to be an $8 pot. Those are sort of hard to get a lot of in the $5 ring games.

Points can be used to buy stuff, like cards, hats, books, and entries into tournaments. If you have 2,000 points you can email Pokerstars and they'll give your account the ability to create private tournaments.

For people who used promotional codes when they deposited, points are used to determine when you can get your deposit bonus back.

Personally, I've never used my FPP's. I hoard them. Maybe some day I'll use them to get something nice, but in the meantime I'm just letting them accumulate.

The reward stuff is kinda moot, as the email said he was gifted VPP, and not FPP. Like the others said, silver star is not really feasible at the levels you're playing.

But, I've been pleasantly surprised by the FPP loot at poker stars. The t-shirts are cheap, and good quality. The coffee mugs are really nice too. Currently saving for a decent set of chips.

I deposited $125 and I play higher-value games. They gave me 1000 VPP points.
