I just did as well(the 36 player $2.20)...but I just play them for the $T...I de-register then play again, it's like playing a 20,000+ freeroll - I rarely play them unless nothing else on at the time that Sunday. If you win a ticket, you can save it and play another - they'll just credit your account with T$11 to use as you wish. The money is best spent on CC buy-ins :p
GL and Cheers

Its gonna be close to 20,000 players. It plays like a turbo and/or a freeroll OR maybe even a turbo freeroll. By the first break real close to half the field will be gone, half again each break. Very likely if you make the 4th break, you are ITM. It will run a total of close to 8 hours, depending on players but thats close to the average. Prepare for longer if you are serious.

As for the play...... Don't change much. Read the players as much as possible, don't over think things, don't stack yourself with insane hands.

Have fun!

Remember these are pretty easy to win a cheap seat into. Bourbon has the right idea.

Try not to spread the word...but after 6pm est. is the best time - hardly any super hyper europeans in it - mostly with the intellipoker avatar. ...the $2.20 36 player pays $6 for 7th place..the other 6 get entry into 100k or deregister for T$11...shhhhhh

I've won plenty of tickets to this via satellite, but have never played it. I just unregister and get my $11T. Then I used that money for other tournaments. Big MTT's just seem so loooong. I'm apt to get bored and act stupid.

I'm not especially good at tournaments, but because people play so poorly at the end of these I can usually tighten up and let the people who should be folding every hand knock each other out.

Yea I won my seat off of a 2.20 satellite, and was also thinkin of cashin out. They seat was pretty easy to come by I thought. I decided I'm gonna play it. I post on another site with a guy who came in 3rd once and won like 8 grand. I was askin a friend the other day how come it's never us winning all that $$, we're good enough. Then I answered myself...it's cause we never take the shot!! Well I've decided I'm gonna take the shot...I only got 2.20 in it so what the hell...

Thanks for the advice and tips.

If you have fun, it's totally worth the $2.20 investment. Heck, it's probably worth the $11 if you enjoy it.

Just keep in mind that this event will have a bazillion players, many of which play really stupid. So there are going to be a *ton* of bad beats. Like Oneboubon said, it's like a huge freeroll.

When you get a lot of aggressive schmucks playing against a lot of aggressive schmucks, they knock each other out, but their chips merge to make mega-schmucks with huge stacks of chips. And really, if you have a ton of chips you're an imposing foe no matter how bad you play.

But man... winning would be awesome, and quite a payoff for a $2.20 investment.

I think it is actually considered one of the majors by Stars, simply because of the amount of money in the prize pool, which is right at 200k or higher every single week.

I actually love playing this tournament, I've made a couple good runs in it, and hope to take it down some day lol(obv)

I don't think so.

Winning the Sunday Millions is like winning the NFL's Monday Night Football game.

Winning the Sunday $100k is like winning a (televised) college game.

It's sort of like winning the Nightly Hundred Grand, only you're paying $11 instead of $162 and you're playing larger field of composed of noobs rather than a smaller field of better (on average) players.

Or what about the Wednesday Hundred-Fifty Grand ($320)?

I mean, winning is a big deal, but the small buy in and the weak field, and the incredible amount of luck (IMHO) detracts from it some.

I won entry last week from a 70fpp qualifier. Didn't know I could take the T$ and run. I ended up placing 1234th and won around $37. I would have placed better I was playing super tight just trying to get to the money.

Its a fun tournament because you get a shot at a lot of money for next to nothing... but there is mucho gambling involved. You'll more than likely face at least one all in coin flip just to get in the money. And to win would require a LOT of luck. People do indeed play it like a freeroll. Which is good and bad. Just watching the player count drop in the lobby is fun :)

Those qualifiers take about 90 minutes, and are easier to beat than a similar non-satellite tournament, so I play them when I'm just looking to kill some time.

I like the tournament ones (with 100+ players) rather than the 36 player S&G's. Though, I think I do better in the 36 player ones, as I tend to concentrate more.

I went on a streak of losing like 7 these things in a row recently... 5 of them to getting all-in good and the other guy catching a flush to beat me. But really, losing in that manner is just a testament to how beatable they are.

Just played 3 qualifiers.

10 person - Need first - place 3rd
10 person - Need first - place 2nd
20 person - Need sixth - place 7th

I keep getting eliminated right on the bubble. Story of my life. And of course I got eliminated in bad beats in all. No hundred grand for me this week.
