| PokerStars rakeback for dummies Hey, a new month is starting and I wonder if that means I should do something for my VIP status on PokerStars. I know the information can be found on their webpage, but can someone jsut tell me in one sentence if I should be aware of anything? I am currrently playing maybe 1,500 hands per day (2NL). Thanks. |

In chat someone said if I play more than 2,000 hands each day then it would make a difference, is that correct or should I just not worry about it...? |

Vpps = Fpps = cash I'm not sure what the earn rates are at 2nl, but if you have HEM then that will calculate it for you. If not load up some tables, play some hands and calculate the amount of vpps earned. TBH, I don;t think you should be worrying until you're at least Platinum if not Supernova. Concentrate on winrate 1st, then move up stakes and when you get to say 50nl then the Vpp's earned will become more meaningful. |

| I'm going to resurrect this thread so I don't get bashed for not searching. Hopefully someone will see my questions lol. Basically I am deciding between signing up for rake back with full tilt or staying to Pokerstars and pushing for Platinum star. I play only 6max (and love the sunday Pokerstars tournys) and pretty much looking to get the most value. I don't see supernova as a possibility so basically is Platinum's overall value as much or better than 27% with FT? Last edited by dakota-xx : 8th December 2010 at 3:03 PM. Reason: use google |

| In another thread I had asked about Pokerstars vs. Fulltilt if I was going to do a ton of volume just for a month. Playing $5 sngs or <$10 tournaments I'm not sure if the holiday bonuses at Full tilt are better than steller rewards at Pokerstars. |

| re: PokerStars rakeback for dummies While I'd love to get the black card, I won't be able to since I'll only be putting in a lot of volume for 1 month. Can't keep that up once classes start again. The only problem I see with fulltilt is that they don't offer DoN games which are a lot easier to multitable since I feel you can make more robotic moves. |

I'm still undecided because 23%+ stellar could not be that far off from 27% could it? I don't play many tournaments but I do love the sunday guarantees on Pokerstars which almost makes me want to stay with Pokerstars. You really think the games are softer on FT? Just an opinion i'm assuming? |

| re: PokerStars rakeback for dummies Okay believe it or not, I still have the most stupid question in the dummy repertoire left: As I am playing on PokerStars, do they actually pay out the rakeback at the end of the month like other sites or is it automated every hand? PTR estimates I have paid $21 on my 2NL so far, but I have no idea if I'll have rakeback coming to me when the month ends. |

On Stars, your "rakeback" comes in the form of VIP bonuses and such that you buy with your VIP points. You don't get paid a regular rakeback like on FT and other sites. If you're playing 2NL, you're simply not going to benefit much from the VIP program. A flat rakeback plan would better suit you. When your volume or stakes go up to the point that you're earning a lot of VIP's and increasing in VIP levels, then it becomes more attractive. Get to SN or SNE, and it's very lucrative, but I don't think there's enough time in the day to get there from 2NL. |

I'd like to know how the number 23 % as seen above was calculated? And does anyone have any idea what you can get if you are a silver star or a gold star? Would that be around 10 %, 15 %? |

It makes assumptions that you use your fpp's in the purchase of the $4k bonus. So if your playing 2nl that wil take a really long time. If you purchase the lower cash bonuses then your effective rb rate will drop. The link also provides the equivalent rb rates for lower statuses. I'll be honest it's only ever gonna matter if your like >25nl cash or like >$16 sng's and you MMT imo. |
