Pokerstars Points. Vip, FPP's etc etc

Hi guys, sorry if this has been posted before a million times, and sorry again if its a stupid question, but I cant find the right info on Stars site.
On Pokerstars, how do you accumulate Frequent Player Points, and just what does the VIP thing mean? Is it anything like the Iron Man program on Tilt? Do your FPP's amount to higher VIP levels? And what are the rewards for reaching higher levels?
I've only accumulated like 10 playing micro's, i'm just curious as to what i'm working towards!
