PokerStars Pocket Kings I play on PokerStars and have noticed, or think I have anyway, an unusually high occurrence of pocket kings getting beat by pocket aces in tourneys. In fact, it happened to me today. Has anybody else out there noticed the frequency or is it just me. Thanks for the consideration

It's simply a random occurence. I think I've seen it less than 5 times on Poker Stars and I have played on there for over a year a couple times a week. You must realize how many hands are being dealt at one time on some of these sites. Poker Stars usually has at least 4000 tables going at once and there is probably one case of KK vs. AA every couple of minutes simply because of the volume of hands that are dealt. You have just been 'unlucky' in sitting at some of the tables and in the exact chair where the KK is dealt. The only bad beat I've taken like that is I had AA and pushed all-in after someone with QQ went in. Someone with AKoff called behind me, and a king came on the flop and the river...

I have beem putting alot of thought into the "large site's" number of bad beats or having power hands dominated. In pokerstars tourneys you will see cowbodys on rockets more because there are alot of tight players and the tourneys last for hours on end. Now after I get done working on an article about an unrelated topic, I am going to see what kind of information is out there on the random number generators the sites use. The ones Las Vegas uses for their video machines are strictly regulated. The point I am going to try and focus on is, is there one RNG for each table or for the whole site. Basically how it all works online. One for the whole site would explain a few things. Also how the different online gaming commisions regulate the RNG's. Just something I have been thinking about and if I find interesting enough information I'll write something up about it.

Just started playing on Noble the other night and the hands and flops do appear to be significantly different than Pokerstars. Played for over 3 hours and did not get a pocket pair. Also, aces didn't appear in the flop nearly as often. I wrote software for many years and there is probably something about the random number generators in use by the different sites. Left Noble and joined a Sit & Go at Pokerstars and on the first hand I had QQ, and two other players had KK, and AA. Flop was AKQ - convenient...
