PokerStars Double or Nothing

Are these Pokerstars double or nothing sng's/tournaments new? I have never seen a STT like this one - 10 players and all you have to do is finish in the top five to double your money !!

New PokerStars Double up SnG's

PokerStars has a new Sng, 10 seats, $5, 5 winners at $10 each.

WHOLE NEW STRAT needed.

my roommate is doing an experiment right now about just sitting out at the lower level ones. I had to go to class before the first was even half way done so not sure yet. Ill report back.

needless to say the optimum way I think will be NIT it up

I have played in two already now - they are the easiest to multi table and the easiest money !! At the lower limits (playing $5) it is just sit tight and wait for the premium hand, let everone else knock themselves out.

Even though I have only played two hands in total - out of the first twenty - no one took any notice nor gave my raise any respect - four callers later and one all in call after the flop - I almost tripled up and was able to essentially sit out to the top 5.

Basically nut peddling as far as I can see from the 1 I played.
Got 2 good hands, they got me nothing and I bubbled QJ vs TT.

I could've waited for the other guy who had 1k in chips, I had 900, blinds 150/75. But he was so extremely tight I figured he'd never make a mistake.

They do play slow tho, but it's doable if you multi table them, or play cash at the same time like I did.

This has been a format on Ladbrokes for some time. It is easy to cash but boring as hell.

U sit, wait and when its the bubble u steal.

First impression is that these play much slower than you might expect.

2nd impression is it is the bubble and everyone is tight

An early double up almost guarantees cashing, and in my first (and so far only) game I saw cl sitting back. When I doubled up, he even went so far as to suggest we work the table. Collusion possibilities.

3 rd impression is these might be good for multi-tabling. Yes, they are boring....

These look to be better than HU games just because they will be less random.

I tried 2 of them. They play like a continuous bubble. Big stacks save chips and little stacks shove needlessly. So boring! When all the stacks are similar and the blinds aren't too threatening, everyone limps and tries to hit a big flop. Stack sizes get sooooo much attention here.

Plus they take so long. They pay like a HU match, but you can win it all in a few hands HU. These are just too much work for the same reward as HU, imo.

Is there a case to be made for stealing blinds and building a stack if everyone is nutpeddling ?

Depends on how you look at it imo.
Could say they're very little work with lots of waiting involved.

You need to see who is playing like a rock and steal from them like crazy. Just make sure you are sure. Also, when the blinds get up to 75/150 and there are only 7 players left, steal away, no one wants to be the bubble. Just don't go up against a stack that can bust you.

Ya took me an hour and 5 mins to complete a 1.10 of these. small stack kept on winning there all ins. A few people would raise with nothing when small stack was all in. Making the other guy fdold cause he thought and i thought they had nuts and fold. Seeing the guy has nothin not even a pair and small stack doubling up a few times.

I have done 36ish of them or so (multi 12 at a time) so far I am down about 2$ but I am running bad. Ie my AA gets cracked by J8, KK runs into AA, and QQ destroyed by JJ to name a few. But over the long run they seem to be somewhat profitable...

Just played 2 of them and they are so BORING and everyone is insanely tight ($1 level) but anyway, its a good idea but no one plays to get chips, they just play to hover around 5 and if they become short stack they push...everyone just makes sure the blind doesnt get them.

re: PokerStars Double or Nothing

I seriously doubt you'll win enough to be profitable by sitting.....people are way too tight played one yesterday took over an hour to get rid of 5 people...

Well I'm sick of bubbling a stt so I'm going to check it out...but I would need to play at least 4 at a time and be top 5 in all 4 to win 20$ in one hr? lol

I'm not going to say good or bad against or for that till i give it a shot...almost feels like HU winnings

Just doubled up in a 1.10. Not really a double after the rake. More like 90 cent profit. I like these.

They are not too bad, but I had only played one and tripled my stack when I tripped up and basically folded to the cash

First one I tried, I was seated with Dead. Lost couple hundred to him first hand (he turned the nuts) then got allin with pair over pair...you know the rest. Tenth doesn't pay, so rigged .

edit: made it in 2nd one, took 32 minutes now that its turbo.
