ok so basically week one was amazing for us, week two was amazing for pokerstars (ie they made more in increased entries than they lost in overlays), and week three is like a lottery. Odds of being dealt into a hand if you play 4k hands/day (my goal) so 28k this week are under 3%. The odds of winning that pot are worse and the odds of that pot being something actually worth winning are even bigger. So while 22 big blinds isn't bad considering it's free, it's not that good considering the odds of even winning one of these.

Yeah, kind of a crapshoot. But, since I need to head back to the cash tables to hit my Silver Star this month, it'll be a nice bonus if I hit one. I'll be sure to post here if I do.

Oh, and I called this in the previous thread. Should've guessed the double pots, considering the 2x theme of the promotion.

As i was just playing, it popped up that someone just won an additional 1.5k by winning the 2x thing. So it has its merits

also, have people seen the double your vip status tournies?? Now these are balla. Basically, if you are a platinum star and win one of these tournies, you become a supernova elite, if you finish in top 100 you become a supernova. There are several for each vip level aswell, giving bronze pokerstars shots at becoming gold, silver to platinum, gold to supernova.

wow i missed those... so if you win one your status is increased as if you made the vpp requirement? through the end of august?

LOL, I was playing a SNG last night, and they congratulated someone in the chat box for winning one of these. A whole $.62! Poker Stars may be broke after this...

They should've just made the whole month 2x VPP This week is pretty much garbage. It would be pretty amazing if you somehow were winning a stack when the hand is going on.

If they let you know that you are in the hand as it's happening it would be fun to get everyone to go all in so it gets doubled but I doubt anyone would do it.

theyve got more vpp's in heads up sng's aswell. Can't believe you think this week is garbage when they added those tournies. Some people may never get supernova elite status in their lives, so to have a shot to get there in 1 tourny is pretty damn awsome

Well as it shows the hand # in the upper left, you actually could, unless they started it at the beginning of the week. I was actually considering looking and estimating when the millionth hand would happen and then fire up a ton of tables. Of course I'd still probably not get it, but it'd increase the odds. But as I said, doesn't seem it explicitly mentions where the millionth starts. Is it every million this week or any time the game number ends in 000000?

So of course it's not garbage, but to Switch the 2x vpp status tourneys are next week right? Not this week.

This is pretty sick, although only 6 people will get it (2 platinums and 4 supernovas).

Also I don't think anyone is really complaining, since obviously all of this is free stuff that Stars didn't have to give away at all, it's just that they profited more from the last week and this week they're not giving much away unless the big hand happens on a high-stakes table. Granted the first week was freaking amazing, and the shot at winning something like that for free the 4th week is great, but the second week benefited Pokerstars (pretty sure additional rake was more than overlays) and the 3rd week is like a lotto (although again, granted it's for free, so nothing to complain about).
