I'm considering joining Pokerstars, as its recently been brought to my attention that they are now MAC compatible. Im a long time Full Tilt user and am wondering how the sites compare, particularly regarding freerolls. Also does anybody know of any bonuses or anything else I should be aware of before joining?

I personally wouldnt recomend stars.I know its favourite among many on CC but unless you are super skilled or super lucky or even both you will find it extremely tough.there are no cash freerools but some sat ones they fill up quick and you need to get through up to 12,000 players to reach top 99 to qualify for a 2k event that will also have huge numbers.
Bad beats and suckouts are in my opinion far more frequent on pokerstars than most other sites,probly due to the large numbers.
I would recommend staying on tilt but thats just my opinion.. The one good thing about pokerstars is the deposit minimum is only $10 so try a min deposit first and see how you get on.

I have a Mac and I play on both FTP and PS.
First of all the software is great .... no problems.
Support is second to none IMO
Now PS has more traffic which means more bad beats ,suckouts and generally goofy play so be prepared.
But they have micro cash games 1 cent 2 cent.
and micro buy in tourneys 10 cent and 25 cent.
Freerolls .... eh they suck everywhere anymore.
Bonus's don't know since I built a bankroll from scratch .
I do know that they have first time bonus's every once in a while.
I bounce back from FTP to PS all the time .

I love PokerStars. Ive played at alot of sites but to tell u the truth Pokerstars tops them all with the range of freerolls/FPP tournys/low+high cash tables and the MTT's! Plus there allways busy!!
U may loose a bit n call it jokerstars and delete the software and deposit on partypoker or sumwhere else but they jus dont seem to match up that competitive level...apart from fulltilt.
But FT is for queers and steers, and I dont c no steers on FT lol.

I've got a friend who says its unbeleievable some of the shit he sees on pokerstars. Its almost like the cards are never shuffled well, weird stuff just happens way too often. What say you?

i think pokerstars have the best software i tried...
then i havent tried that many i played little at 888 but had trouble with my deposit. so i stopped
played little on betsson but my comp crashes with their software. so i had to stop
also tried party poker liked their software but had trouble with depositing money due 2 using my girlfriends card so i stopped.

probably like pokerstars cause there is no problem yet....

I have well over 50 accounts at different sites/networks. I play 10-12hrs/day. I suffer bad beats and suckouts everywhere.....and I don't see Pokerstars as any better or worse than the others.....they average out. I do notice a difference on one site tho....Full Tilt. Not sure if it's the players or software...but the irregularly high consistency of bad beats and river-chased suckouts is unproportional to odds. No, I am not whining....I do well everywhere...just less well....on a regular consistent basis....on Full tilt....and my play is the same everywhere....so it's not me. And I'm not talking freerolls.

Just my opinion.

If you are looking for a site with good freerolls, keep looking. Poker Stars is about the most difficult site to win money playing freerolls.

its has the best tournys from 10cents to 1000 dollars

true, its has the best games, there is a S&G, MTT and game for everyone, the only bad thing ids the freerolls, wich in PS suck. everithing else is good.

Too many people, wich means too many donks playing micros and freerolls.

Pokerstars is my favorite site. The freeroll structure on FTP is better if you're planning on playing more freerolls than other games. Pokerstars has a $50 bonus for first time depositors and you should definitely google Pokerstars rakeback before you register an account.
