Poker Stars WCOOP $100K Freeroll
For those of us that played in any of the WCOOP events Poker Stars is holding a $100K freeroll on October 25. I figured I would post this since some people have said they don't read the PS emails.
By playing in the 2009 World Championship of Online Poker, you helped make it the biggest online tournament series in history. As a thank you from PokerStars, we have credited your PokerStars.com account with a ticket to play in our exclusive 'WCOOP 2009: Player Appreciation $100K Freeroll' tournament on Sunday, October 25 at 14:30 ET. WCOOP 2009 awarded a colossal sum of $51,652,800 in total prize money over the course of 45 events. There were 112,739 buy-ins, by 43,973 unique players from 140 different countries. Now we're bringing you all back together to battle for a share of $100,000! The tournament can be found under the 'Tourney' > 'Special' tab in the PokerStars.com lobby and your ticket to play is already in your account - all you need to do is register. |

Sounds like a pretty "HUGE" field of good players. Hope you guys have about 12 hours on your hands to play in this event. Too bad I did not play in the WCOOP, no tickets for me, I just checked. Good luck to those of you that have quailified.

The maximum number of entrants was ~43,000. I'm assuming that quite a few of the "big" players won't bother with this, I expect there to be around 25,000 or so entrants. Now, of those entrants I expect about 1/3 or ~8,000 won't show up, maybe even more since there's a whole week plus lead time.
That leaves 17,000 or so. Let's figure about 10% will do the "all in" usual FR thing until they are gone. So now you're down to 15,000. PS pays the top 4000. So making the money shouldn't be too different unless of course one of those "all in" idiots cracks your early pocket aces with his 23 suited. |
