Poker Stars locale designations

On one of the new PS software updates they changed the location designations from city to country, and while that may well be preferable for some players, for most US players it would make more sense to at least show the State.
I sent an E-Mail to PS support but was wondering how other US players felt.
Am I alone??

i think it is better not to know the city, I agree with the state maybe.

i liked the old way...it made it more interesting ..

To each his own, I guess. Put me down for liking the country listing. With just the city, I was having to Google a lot of towns I never heard of to learn the country. (maybe country AND city listing would be nice)

Only thing i can think of is that with all the cities involved, not to mention, the people who customized their city, seems as though Pokerstars may have felt they had to do this. It doesnt much matter to me either way.

with cities you didn't know what state or country but I think I was pretty good at guessing some country's and most states . but then again I never knew if I was right or wrong .


oh well doubt they will add states for us players and not for everyone . but I'm sure they think they are protecting us from something by keeping it more general and thats their reasoning for the change in the first place .

but I'm with you on states , now other countries , I can judge them by country only lol , knowing what part of it would be cool but may not really tell me much . I just see Romania , Russia , Italy etc. etc . , .

but US players I need to know what state , is that guy from California or Nevada ? and if the sum bich is from Cleveland I need to know it in advance

I like to know as much as possible about all players just for fun.

Well I like it the way it is now. Before I had a conversation with a co-worker about me not feeling the showing of my city cause I may take all someones money and they come looking for me!!!! lol Next thing I know I logged on and it was changed!

I miss the cities. I've moved around a fair bit and it was always nice to see someone in one of my games from a city/area I used to live in. Led to some nice conversations that way. The new way doesn't really bother me, I just feel something has been lost.
