What I was thinking.

Paydirt, have a look through this thread: Rigged: The AA test

Granted, it's looking at AA and not low cards, but over the course of almost 400,000 hands it shows PokerStars is dealing pretty close to the statistical expectation.

This looks like another "conspiracy theory" post IMO. Sorry, but bad hands do happen.

Just looked at my cash game database of 130,000 hands I've played. The hand I've been dealt the most times is 97o = 1245 times, followed by J8o and 73o. Lowest amount of times I've been dealt is 53s = 346 times closely followed by J3s, Q3s.

The only statistic your 'Stats' show is that your sample size is infinitetessimally small to warrant a relevant comparison .

Well you do realize that a little over 41% of hands have a 2, 3, or 4 in them right? So 65% is a little bit of a streak, but not horribly far off from the expected value.

Track about 10k hands instead of 700. You will find the number 2 3 and 4 to decrease overall in percentage.

700 is just too few hands.

POKER STARS RANDOM DEAL

I asked a question yesterday about getting a 2 3 or 4 in my hole cards over 65% of the time i play on pokerstars and was told i think it's rigged
Never said it was rigged just said there is something wrong that everytime i play my hole cards over 60 some % of the time has a 2 3 or 4 in it . Now just played a sit an go played 26 hands 16 of those hands started with a 2 3 or 4 it not right something is wrong . please look at your hand history or count the next time you play on Pokerstars the number of times in a tourney the your hand has a 2 3 or 4 as 1 of your hole cards

well if ur saying something is wrong, ur saying it is not normal
are u not?
if ur saying it is not normal then ur saying it is rigged
plus as was said in the other post, ur sample size is way too small
if 65% of 50,000 hands contained a 2 3 or 4 then u have a case
but not when u play 100 hands

It really isn't necessary to start a whole new thread saying basically the same thing. I'm going to merge the two threads. Let's keep the discussion in the same place.

WOW here we go look i'm asking other players to check because i can't under stand why everytime i play my hand have a 2 3 or 4 in it a very high % of the time and the reason i said not normal because those 3 cards should not come any more than any other

It seems you won't let it rest - otherwise why would you start a new thread asking exactly the same thing?

We will miss your keen insight to the lumping of random numbers. I surely want to play with you, though, because I want somewhere for the dealer to put all my 2, 3 and 4 cards.

Then you obviously haven't been to many forums, if you think that people are causing trouble here. Seriously, did you even read all the responses? A number of people have helped and answered your question.

To answer the question: yes, I think you'll find it's just a "bad unusual run". I don't think anything sinister is going on, or that there's anything fundamentally wrong with the shuffling routine on PokerStars.

What people are saying is that 700 hands isn't really that many - all sorts of weird stuff can happen, including getting dealt a disproportionate run of crappy cards. It happens to me all the time playing live, where there's no random number generator to blame.

If you keep track of your cards over 7000 or 70,000 hands, however, you'll likely see the statistics even out.

Seriously, have a look at the AA thread I posted the link to above. It shows over 400,000 hands, compiled from loads of different players, that people are getting dealt AA about the right number of times on PokerStars. One group of hands can't be way out of whack without affecting the other groups.

Paydirt, let me spin your spin in another direction. We have all had streaks with shit for cards, and 700 hands ain't much.

Within a month or two, you will exxperience the opposite end of the spectrum, having hit AK or Q in equally appalling numbers.

Oh by the way, the thing with streaks is that for every bad one, there's a good one, and for every really bad one there's a really good one. Etc ad nauseum.

it's the exact opposite with me. i get dealt an ace with a great kicker everyother hand. my sample size is only 3 hands but i figure this is enough for me to go pro with.

i don't know where you saw that quote by pigpen, but that math is not correct. 41.176% is the right number, gotten by 12/52 + (12/51)*(40/52)
