Its going to be small stakes, 200NL live is small. Its going to be full of bad players (they wont fold!) .. because people are on holiday, they are on a boat, they are possibly bored and this poker thing looks fun. No-one goes to a casino to fold. There will most likely be one or two good players and the rest will be bad.. very bad.. rediculusly bad. Dont think big preflop raises will discourage them, they want to see flops, dont know what standard raise sizes are and think everyone is bluffing them anyway. |

| re: poker on cruise ships Have played a couple of times on Princess. They were more like private games that a group of people threw together in the library. The Casino provided the dealers and the tables. 1/2 NL and as stated above, the play was extremely BAD. It was nearly impossible to get some folks to fold. There were several times my huge hands lost some huge pots. All in all I actually broke even for the couple times I played. Did much better in the Blackjack tournaments. Good Luck and enjoy your time at sea. Can't wait for my next one. |

| On a side note, my parents just got off that ship and had a great time. I think my dad mentioned that one day they had some sort of tournament (not 100% sure about that, they go on a lot of these and it may have been another ship). As for poker, he told me that the games were VERY soft. Like Stu said, no one wants to fold. My dad really doesn't know much about holdem, but is a pretty good poker player overall and he paid for the whole trip one night at the table. He said lines were long when they could fill the table (there was only one) but I would think it is worth the wait. GL!! I love cruises. You will have a great time. |

If you do enjoy both cruises and poker I suggest checking out http://www.cardplayercruises.com/ I haven't been on a Card Player Cruise in many years ... not since the previous publisher, June, got out of the business. But they were fun back then and I assume they still are. |
