POKER.COM freeroll sit n goes

I just started playing on poker.com and noticed thier freeroll sit n goes.

Its a 3 tier system.

if you go onto thier website, on the home screen scroll down to play money on the left hand side, click play money and there will be a link button saying to trade 100$ play money for a funstep1 coupon.

Tier 1 : (FUNSTEP1) 6 person sng - winner receives a FUNSTEP2 coupon

Tier 2 : (FUNSTEP2) 6 person sng - winner receives a FUNSTEP3 coupon

Tier 3 : (FUNSTEP3) 10 person sng - winner receives 1$ real money.

sure its not much but it adds a little fun and hey 300 wins =100$

being around the holiday season, my poker fund is seeming low, i am thinking of a new personal challenge to see how long it will take me to earn 100$ this way.

PS. they aren't very difficult and step 1 and 2 take no longer than 15-20 minutes

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS

if anyone is interested in trying it out let me know, would be cool to play with a fellow CC'er for the big 1$ cash prize....

That's pretty cool. I wish they had that deal/that I knew about it back in the day when I was a freeroller. I freerolled at Pokerstars which I didn't realize at the time was a tremendous mistake because you have to make top 27 out of like thousands of people just to make it to the second round where you actually have a chance to win (a very small amount of) money! Yuck. Anyway, good luck with your challenge!

Tropical has freeroll sit-n-go's for .10/.20 prize pools. Pretty worthless but I started my BR on there with a .35 freeroll prize

Yeah.....I know exactly what you mean,.....especially when u are on the bubble and u dont make it....It sucks...but it sure is a lot better than AOL' s site.....You can actually win a seat on the WSOP..........for free.....10000 people plus..........great way to gain experience in Tourney play though.........you have to love this game to make it .......anyway....I am drunk ......ready to play more though....see ya all at the tables.

Just so you know the average number of these you will have to play to get $100.

Assuming you have no edge or disadvantage against the field (flawed assumption as you’re doubtless better than 90% of the people who will be playing these, but let’s go with it).

5/6 = 0.83 chance of losing SNG #1 and not winning having played 1 SNG.
1/6 * 5/6 = 0.139 chance of winning SNG #1 and losing SNG #2 and not winning having played 2 SNGs.
1/6 * 1/6 * 9/10 = 0.025 chance of winning SNGs #1 and #2 and losing SNG #3 and not winning having played 3 SNGs.

Total = 0.994 chance of not winning in a ‘run’, so 0.006 chance of winning.

On an average ‘run’ you will play (0.83*1)+(0.139*2)+(0.025*3)+(0.006*3) = 0.83 + 0.278 + 0.075 + 0.018 = 1.201 SNGs

0.006 chance of you winning so...

1.201 / 0.006 = avg 200 SNGs (rounding) to win $1.

Obviously then we can say avg 20,000 SNGs to win $100, or an average EV of $0.005 per SNG (obviously the level 3 SNGs have more EV then the level 2 SNGs which have more EV than the level 1 SNGs).

Have fun!

The electricity cost of running your computer for 3 SnG's is probably more than $1. get a paper round or wash cars if you're that short of dough.

I was just playing one of these freeroll sit ang goes on poker.com ..

and the weirdest thing happened...

as it got to heads up i was at 5000 chips and other player was at 1000 chips roughly.. (this was round 2)

then all of a sudden, it made me sit out.. and i could see my cards and blinds being posted, and when i clicked sit in it would look normal until it got to my turn, and then fold and make me sit out again, and it did so until i was eaten away by the blinds..

I could even type stuff... i could everything EXCEPT play...

In round 3 people were playing tight, so i capitalized on it, and got up in chips early.. short stacks started pushing so i began to play tight, final 4 i was 3rd in chips not too far from guy in 2nd

Stole some blinds, got my chip stack 3000, on a table with 10k on it

Down to 3 people, which quickly ended when someone tried to steal blinds with 10 6 and got caught by JJ

Heads up.. im at 4k hes at 6k
i get 66 in SB so i push, he calls with A 7 off and flop comes A 9 7 turn and river gave me no help..

2nd gets nothing
Ohhh well...
