I would like to thank everyone in the newsgroup for 1) helping me with the Beta Test, and 2) providing each other help whilst Ive not been here - I wont forget it guys!!

In any case Im back to work fully now and my schedual is as follows: Between tonight and tomorrow morning you will all receive by email a questionaire covering the software, and individual aspects of the software, with a few more general poker questions as well.

I would be really grateful if you guys could get it back to me as soon as you have time to, as I will be commencing the website redesign in full tomorrow (during which time it may be unavailable for a few minutes at a time as I update it).

Regarding the Beta testers tournament I was posting about on Saturday :
I would like to schedual this for NEXT SATURDAY 4th of November at

2100 CET
2000 UK
1600 Canada (Atlantic)
0500 Australia (Ill understand if you guys dont show up!)

and the format I am suggesting is as follows:

NL Holdem
2000 Starting Chips
Blinds increase every 12 mins
buyin €5+.50
Added Money €200

I expect 20 to 25 players to show up (judging by who is actively in touch with me) so we would be looking at a two, maybe three table tourny with €300 prize money - and Ill be playing as well!

PLEASE CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THE STRUCTURE AND TIME IS CONVENIENT!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as the website has been changed according to the comments and questionairres I have, I will officially call the site "live" - the software changes will take a few weeks to have implemented as it is somewhat network dependant.

Also - we will be having monthly "Team C.D.P." events with lots of added money and other benefits which will include buyins to major tournaments (ie WSOP + EPT), I am planning on making inclusion in team CDP dependant on earning at least 2,500 VIP points - which I will knock down to a thousand for you guys should you choose to stay after the Beta period is over (which I hope you all will!).

Anyway - Im off to the 1/2 tables for an hour before the wife gets home from work!!

cheers,

martin.
i work at 9.30pm saturday night, (if I dont get there on time, I dont get to 'walk my special corner' ,if you understand?) can you make it an hour earlier? on 2nd thoughts, I dont normally last more than 15 minutes against good players, so it doesnt matter!

Tournament League Structure

Hi Everyone- have a look at Tournament Promotion - this is running now guys, click on "Account Information" (top right of the software) and then click on the "Tournament Top List" tab.

Tournament Top List
You don’t have to play the most expensive tournaments to become the best tournament player. It is your place that counts. Weekly and monthly prizes will be paid to the winners of our Tournament Top List.
In every tournament with more than 20 registered players, you have a chance to earn points for the Tournament Top List. Points are given to the 6 players that place highest in a tournament. The winner of the tournament earns 7 point, the second prize winner earns 5 points, third prize winner 4 and so on down to the sixth prize winner who earns 1 point. The top list is not depending on the buy-in or the size of the tournament. Therefore, low limit players have the same possibility as high limit players to get a high ranking on the Top List.
If two or more players have the same amount of points the player that have more first prizes will place higher in the Top List. If the number of first prizes are the same the number of second prizes will count and so on.
Information about your place in the Tournament Top List can be found in the Account Information Pop-up in the Lobby. You can also search for other players score in the Tournament Top List.
Weekly winners
Each week, the top ten players of the weekly top list will receive the following prizes:
place
price
1:st
€200
2:nd
€100
3:rd
€50
4:th

€50
6:th
€25
7:th
€25
8:th
€25
9:th

10:th

The Prizes will be paid to the weekly winners on Monday each week.
Monthly Qualifiers to a €6,000 Freeroll
Each month, the top 200 players will qualify to a €6,000 freeroll. The players that have qualified will automatically be registered for the tournament, which will be played 20:30 CET the first Thursday of every month.

Problem. The VIP points clock up real slow if you are mainly an STT player (like me). The system seems geared much more towards ring games.

Since this beta started, I`ve made CDP my main site, and I reckon I must have played at least 20 hours (in one week ). My VIP points are still less than 100.

So, even when reduced from 2500 to 1000, it`s still a big target.

Oh, and yes, I will stay.

Btw you should have a suggestions/bug report topic on your forum... so that we can suggest changes / report bugs and etc...

Same here, Costadel has been my main site... will most likely stay after the beta as well... I'm still currently debating moving my PokerStars bankroll over.. Depends, once i build up my CDP BR up to enough to get a taste of the higher limits.. then I will decide.

You keep bringing the Fish, and Xife will keep showing up! And lately i've been multitabling the 2c/4c ring games (Surprisingly good cash).. and the VIP is pretty slow as well....

Hmmmm - I take your point entirely, and VIP points are not easy to accrue if you are playing tournaments only -

HOWEVER (and I probably shouldnt be sharing this with you guys, but bugger it why not.) - There is a way to accumulate VIP points bloody quick.

The rules behind getting points (ring games this is) is that EVERY player on the table that received cards from the deal, receive a VIP point if the rake is €0.31 or above. This means that on a 1/2 table you should be able to rack up 60/80 points per hour per table - and only actually play in 20% of the hands (depending on how tight your game is).

I had previously calculated the following table to judge how long it would take to earn 1000 points at different levels:

STAKES %Pots with VIP No of HANDS Dealt No of POTS PLAYED
0,02/0,04 1 135000 27000
0,05/0,010 5 27000 5400
0,10/0,20 18 7500 1500
0,25/0,50 45 3000 600
0,50/1 55 2455 491
1,00/2,00 70 1929 386
2,00/4,00 100 1350 270
3,00/6,00 100 1350 270
5,00/10,00 100 1350 270

The Above figures are based on averages taken from CostaDelPoker.com, Pokerstars.com, the Prima Network and Mansion - I averaged out about 6000 hands, and used data from pokeroffice to independantly check my figures. ALSO - The above figures are based on 35% of hands NOT reaching the flop therefore not accrueing VIP points, and a standard "see flop" rate of 20%

Anyway - as you can see it is bloody hard getting VIP points at a decent rate until your playing AT LEAST .25/.50 (ideally 1/2).
-----------------------------------------------------------------

regarding tournament only players (or at least if you primarily play on tournaments, and if you do play cash its only the micro-limits) I am more than happy making exceptions, and allowing entry to TeamCDP events providing the user in question has played "quite a few" tournies (over a reasonable period of time.)
-------------------------------------------------------

In any case, the thinking behind the "teamCDP" concept and the reasoning to put the entry level so high is:

1) I want to give away bloody good bonuses - ie. full wsop packages for next year to the tournament winners

2) I dont intend it to be a "headline grabbing" advertising excercise thatll be announced everywhere- it is genuinly as a "thank you" for the players that are dedicated to C.D.P, and I want to generate as much of a sense of community as possible.

3) I dont want there to be 5000 players qualified therefore making it a crapshoot - the tournament structure will be long (5000 chips, 15 minute blinds etc.) and any more than 1000 players I think would increase the variance too much. I would rather have 200 Great players going for it than 10,000 newbies!

-------------------------------------------------------------

If anyones got anything to add or any suggestions, feel free!

Anyway - Id better go, got a questionaire to write!!!

thanks,
Martin.

i wanna go to the wsop!

cant you create a 23-seater super table(there's enough cards), load it up with fish, and let each of us cc-ers play there one at a time??????

Christ, if I got enough VIP points from that, I reckon I'd not only get to the WSOP, but I'd have Paris Hilton keeping me 'calm' under the table!

Ice hockey is more physically demanding then any other sport. (I know some bums will argue with me about this... )

Altho I imagine it would be fun watching the females playing field hockey, dunno there arn't any field hockey teams around here..

Ya KD has gone too far this time!!

Come on over to Canada man we will put you on the ice and show you a man's sport!!!!

I did alright last night, only played for an hour but came second in a SNG and tripled my buy in on a 02/04 table. Would have been more but I gave a bit back trying to wipe the fishies out.

You can. CDP has that facility, check the lobby menus.

It`s also discussed up above, in this very thread.

LOL come down here in the summer, watch the girls playing hockey on the field of every school. Not that I watch, i just glimpse accidently, a lot!
nah, i knew the passion you canadians have about hockey, why do you think i said it? to get a response. we can trashtalk here xife, or on the tables, just watch out for my 'immortal' hand.

And as for going too far, well, most people have their 'line' that they do not cross when trashtalking, and i have a line a bit further on from theirs, ok
