I play more home games than anything..I actually win sometimes too! (conversly I have never won an online tournament) the 'blinds' upping rule depends on whoes here, one friend goes for a time limit, another goes for 'once around the board' course we aim for easy math so blinds star 5-10, then 10-20, then 25-50...less chips to stack that way

re: Playing with friends poker I don't have friends to play poker at home. It happened one or two times years ago but know i play only during christmas days with my family and some their friend. In the past we spent all the night playng poker, but now they are to much old to be at the table all the night. So i play on line, every day, But must admit that when play with friends, also if o lose, i'm not so , cause i've spented a good time the same.

I actually started off playing home games. My cousin started playing before I did, and he taught me the game at our grandparents house. Shortly after that I went and played my first poker game, it was a small game $5 buyin I think 7 people, and I won. I proceeded to win the next two tournaments I played with him, and then started playing some cash games, and it was quite a while before I had a losing session. If I had not started off playing as well as I did, I don't know if the game would have captured my attention as much as it did, but I seemed to have a "knack" for the game. I've gone on to have many more winning streaks and some losing streaks. And, I've all but quit playing home games. Basically because it's lost steam with the people around here, no one's playing anymore. So, I'm relegated to Casinos and Online, and bar poker. Although, I hardly make it to bar poker games... I guess I don't find poker very much fun unless I'm playing for money Anyway, the home games I played in were typically $5/$10 buy-in tournaments, or $10/$20 min-buyin .25/.50 NL games.

i love playing home games with friends. a good friend of mine has games once a week, and we all buy in for $25 for winner take all (although sometimes we chop if its getting too late). there's usually a full 10 players, a few of which are friends of mine, and some of which we have met down at the poker room in our city - yes, we're lucky enough to have a great poker room nearby with lots of tournaments . . . i like the combination of playing with friends and people i don't know well. somehow, i always feel at an instant advantage when a person doesn't know me.

Hi, I play poker with my friends almost each week and we have great time. One of them has terrific wooden poker table with 8 seats, great chips and everything else you need if you want to feel just like playing at the poker room. We play for real money but the limits are really low and if you lose, this won't have a huge effect on your pocket. The most important is to have fun, it's a game after all...

| re: Playing with friends poker I find playing with friends helps in some ways, when I bet, someone at the table will envariably say "she NEVER bluffs" (which is bad if I am the rfirst better, but the rest of the time it works in my favor) Course one thing about my home games, there is not 'mucking' everyone is curious and we all get to see..unless one dude comes, he is cranky bout loose rules..we let him muck, bad enough he has to put up with a list of the hands sitting out Oh yeah and the teen playing....
