Play at more than one room? Hey Do you think its best to play poker online at various sites? Do you put all you efforts in to one site or play different sites? Do you think Phil Ivey has got a pokerstars account? Im stuck as to deposit my entire bankroll im going to commit onto just fulltilt, or split it between Fulltilt and pokerstars? What do you reckon? Thanx

imo.... One of the best ways to build a bankroll is to bonus whore. Take advantage of the entire bonus amount if at all possible, and then move on to the next site once you've completed the requirements. This is tougher to do in today's play, but still easily doable. Spreading money out all over and losing out on the initial deposit bonus with a bunch of small deposits at several places is way -EV imo.

^^ Defo scrape together as much as you can and deposit at one site. Either one will do as they both offer the same bonus i think, though FT is probably easier. Oh and Phil Ivey only plays at FT as he's a FT Pro. He also part owns FT so it makes sense to be seen playing there.

I also agree that you should deposit to one site, both FTP and pokerstars have first time deposit to $600. I think that pokerstars is a better site than FTP because it doesn't crash as much, and has better cash tables and SNG's to make a bankroll. GL with your decision.

If you enjoy tournaments, there is benefit in having accounts at several sites. That way, you will always be able to find a game at a buyin and a start time that suits you. Also, bonus is largely irrelevant to a tourney player because you won`t usually generate enough points in a limited time to earn anything much in any case. If your preference is for cash games, other posters have made valid points above.

agreed with comments about bonus if not a cash player bonuses are pretty useless if a tourney player if its a decent size bankroll more than two sites would help with times and also benifit you in freerolls and more added tourneys from forum

As for whether you deposit on one site or two... I dunno. You're not really going to be lacking action at either one so I'd just pick your preferred option (potential rakeback with FT vs lower rake at Stars, or whichever software you prefer) and go with one to start with. Otherwise you'll probably be forced to play lower than you'd like on both sites. |
