Pitbull Closes Shop?

Anyone else heard that Pitbull Poker was spotted moving out of their building in the middle of the night, police showing up, etc., etc.??

Just read a rumor on a poker blog with a purported letter from our friend Dave who apologizes, acknowledges the owners as scammers and expresses his doubts as to whether players and employees will ever be paid.

Not sure if this is true, but I'm looking for anyone that has heard anything to confirm or debunk this.

If they've been closed down for b-in corrupt then that jus shows ya what these small time poker sites are like.
I know that some of them small new sites will be legit but it's hard for them to make their way up as bad slander gets around like this....
I tend to stick to the top sites.

It's kinda like saying: I'd rather go to Vegas and play in one of the popular casino and play safe poker, rather than go down a backalley into a basement casino and play unease poker.

I almost made a very large deposit onto pitbull poker because there promotions were just so good. fortunately though my anxiety what if nature kept me safe this time as I did the research first and found out How dodgy they were. All over the internet I found in forums complains about them etc. I looked for similar stuff on other sites well known sites to get a feel of whether this was the norm conspiracy theories or a general concern. I found the former to be the case.

I never deposited a penny there and it just goes to show you should do your research before putting your money on these sites.

I know my comment doesn't answer what you were actually asking,.....but why even bother with any of the lower tier sites.....just asking for trouble IMO

I'd contact them and start the withdrawal process

You guys are pretty good on this stuff. I had gotten some money out earlier, but still have a little in. The cashier still seems to function and took the withdrawl request. Just be sure you get screenshots of it, so you have it later if needed.

FYI....

According to this Bluff Latino America piece, there were some arrests made when the night shift employees grew suspicious and asked the police to stop it.
According to, now former employees of Pitbull Gaming, the owners decided to tell the night shift that they were going to make maintenance to the building. The night shift crew were suspicious about this and decided to stay to see what was really going to happen. The employees saw how a truck started gathering all the office equipment. This is the moment when employees went to the police and explained the situation and went back with the police in order to stop the process. Apparently, there are some arrests and right now the employees are in court explaining the situation to the authorities, to explain them that he is in a “flight risk” situation and should not let the owners out of Costa Rica.
[13:36:25] Ean says: hey guys!
I'm Dave Brenes... I am only returning for one last post... several weeks ago Kevin Baronowski took away the login to 2+2 from me and since then I stopped following up on the threads as per his request. Tonight one of the people at Pitbull called me in at 3am... Kevin and Jordan were trying to take out the computers and leave without saying anything!!!
I'm effectively not working for Pitbull obviously, but I just wanted to tell you that Pitbull is over... we will make sure things come out clear. I was led to believe many things from the inside and seems it kicked me back in the butt. From where I see it now, Kevin is capable of anything, and I doubt he will pay players or employees by now.
Kevin and Jordan were taken by the local police thanks to the quick reaction of fellow co-workers who were suspecting foul play and arrived at the office after hours to find them taking out computers and equipment from the offices. I must say my computer was taken before they could arrive so it is lost pretty much.
I want you to know that while I was at Pitbull I only did my job and follow the instructions given, and I was not fully aware of the real situation, however I would say Kevin is really a scammer.
Thank you all and I hope you have a good night
Dave

Around a month ago,a 2+2 player noticed 2 users that never lost while he played. He wrote pitbull requesting hand histories to verify his finds.Pitbull stalled him.So Im guessing pitbull was allowing superuser accounts and the guy on 2+2 posted his warning, and this close n run was pitbulls answer.Im out 40 or so in freeroll wins, but I figured that at the time I quit playing there. It is a shame greed takes over in a business that could really do great legally.

Glad to hear these thieves were caught instead of disappearing in the night. There's already so much money to be made in being the rake... why mess that up? Idiots.

Another blackeye for online poker....again.. ..at least the owners and the others did not get completly away with it all...I hope ...but we shall see if the people that had money there ever get it back and what kinda of justice the pitbull owner/mangt. and the superusers face.

Fortunenatly in looking into them earlier this month (before signing up and depositing) I had run into many of these questions/rumers/accusastions,so I decided to wait and see what became of it all ...PHEW...

WTF hey, cheating when ya got a good thing...its sad that over the last few years there has been a number of sites not willing to payout or involved in some sort of scandel, i did have a few$$s there but, like on many smaller sites, the few $$s isnt worth it no more and i stopped playing the majority of them. guess Im sticking to FTP and pokerstars (and doyles?)(and P4E? and.....)(im liking cool hand right now too- but only cuz my freeroll winnings have made a modest balance- but its not money in the bank to me)
i may even hold off on the FTP deposit Ive been wanting and waiting to do now
hope all works out well to those who have money there and Im glad these people do get caught- hopefully severe penilties will start happening

From the site "www.poker.se"A swedish site whom is really serious and you can say an embasador for the swedish poker community!

Have written this : Ägarna av Pitbull Poker har efter anklagelser om fusk stängt ner sin site. De har även blivit gripna av polisen på Costa Rica.

Meaning The ownerS of pitbull poker has been arrested after being acusted of having "super users" on their site. Its Confirmed that they were Cheating and the site is Down for good.
About your money whom you have lost i have no idea what you are going to do :S!?

That report is not accurate. See my post. The owners got taken in for questioning, and it was about running out on employees, and not about cheating or superusers.

It seems to be official. The owners of pitbull poker were arrested and pitbull poker is out of business.

All one has to do is look at what the owners had their fingers in previous to poker and you would understand.
I’m honestly surprised they lasted this long.
When they first started up, they gave you free 10 bucks to play around with, which drew (of course) many players.
However, after winning x dollars in there, I wasn’t allowed to withdraw, for not having earned enough points at the ring games.
Fair enough then, I then deposited, won some more, THEN tried pulling out my original deposit.
They STILL wouldn’t allow it, because I hadn’t enough points at the ring games.
Well maybe I don’t WANT to play ring games, ever consider that? I wrote support and told them, “listen, take back your free 10 bucks you gave me and let me have the monies that I DEPOSITED. Nope, they wouldn’t do it.
Only site I’ve ever played on that won’t let you have money back that you deposited.
They are scum of the highest order.
Look into their history pre-poker you will see it’s nothing out of the ordinary.

bottom line-----------READ THE FINE PRINT

their rules were listed...and it was possible to clear the requirements...eventually.

Good thing I withdrew after meeting the bonus requirements. Turned $50 into 250 in about 8 hrs of $1/2 Limit...Worst site and players ever in history of online poker. As soon as I hit that bonus I withdrew all but a couple of bucks! RIP BullPit...

re: Pitbull Closes Shop? poker

Darn second site to close up shop on me when i had a balance. First Duplicate claims 6 bucks now pitbull takes my 4. Good thing i never deposited. Only thing i semi liked about the site was it was flash based. Overall the site wasn't any good anyway so no big loss in my mind.
