Patience is a virtue...
The title of this thread was mentioned on antoher post and it reminded me of my experience with a poker tournament that happened last night. It was a $200 tournament so the prizes were:
1st place: $100 2nd place: $65 3rd place: $35 Anyway, early in the tournment I suffered two bad beats and flops just weren't going my way. I was very short stackd with 15 players left. I won a couple of small pots and got to the finall table. Again, the shortest stack on the table. Players started to assume I was done with lines like "As soon as he's out" or "It won't be long now." I was very picky on my starting hands. So picky I would fold A, 7 or A, 8. I got lucky on an all-in with J. Q and doubled up but still the shortest stack. Eventually, there was 4 players left. One player who was the second shortest stack went all-in. The chip leader called him and won. I couldn't believe it. I got 3rd place. Everyone who was watching and the players on the table couldn't either. So, it's true what they say. Patience is a virtue. |
