Paradise Poker server crash 18th Dec. 2008

Hi All,

Above happened at 1720 hrs approx.

I had been playing in a MTT starting at 1600hrs with 200+ people.

64 players left in MTT (me in 2nd or 3rd place (unusual)).

Is there any precedent set for what happens to the prize pot?

Spoken to their customer service dept - they don't know!

Any ideas?

Many thanks, Mick.

PokerStarsPokerStars is one of the best sites to play online poker. They accept US players & using PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT you get a $50 bonus.

PPPartyPoker.com is probably the best known online poker room. Use the Party Poker bonus code CC500 for a 100% up to $500 deposit bonus.

They will probably refund money based on your position when the tournament stopped.

To follow up.

Firstly, thanks for the comments and suggestions.

I logged on at 0700hrs Friday before work and found that the tourney was "finished" not cancelled and that the entrance fee had been taken from my account.

The tourney had obviously restarted sometime later and I had been blinded out in 21st position (to rub salt in the wound the first 20 were paid).

Spent the day fuming with no time to check situation later that day.

Just logged on to Paradise and found my account has been credited with 100.81 euros - seems promising.

Have emailed their customer support for further info (perhaps I should let sleeping dogs lie).

I will let you know any developments if you are interested.

All the best, Mick.

re: Paradise Poker server crash 18th Dec. 2008

it sounds like you got jobbed! If the tournament had been stopped because of a server crash the tournament should have ended right there.

I had this happen to me long ago when I was playing Party Poker.

They refunded the entrance fee's to all the remaining players in the game, then split up the rest of the post based upon the # of chips you had in perportion to the total chips in play. Not according to the current rankings. I thought is was the right thing to do.

being from the u.s. i have to say i didnt even know paradise poker was around. never hear much of it. previous posters are on the mark here. plenty of other sites that are higher traffic and better reputation. best of luck.
