Hi everyone!

My name is Niko and I am new to the forums and relatively new to online poker and poker in general. I have only started playing two weeks ago, but I already love it! I've read a lot of newbie strategy articles and I really appreciate your guide and the forums! I even played in Sunday's freeroll at Bodog and came in 103rd out of 220-something!

I know a little theory by now, but I need a lot more practise to put it to the table. Some days ago, I came across this website that offers one-to-one online coaching for unskilled players.

Below I've pasted some info from their website. It sounds like it was the perfect thing for me to impove relatively easily.

What's the catch? I have to use their referral code to sign up for a poker site and deposit. Well, I wanted to create an account at Party or Titan Poker anyway, so that doesn't seem like too much to me.

Do you have any thoughts or comments on this? Do you think this is a scam?

The only people who get a free lunch are those unfortunate folk who are homeless, any sometimes that only happens at Christmas.

my suggestion is to play very low limits. read loads and learn my experience. Thats what counts. Post the odd hand on here and get some feedback from folk who like you are learning off each other.

Have to ditto the above. Articles, books and best of all: Practical Experience.

The articles on CC are quite helpfull and the number of them are rising. Some of the threads have extremely beneficial knowledge as well. Add to that the ever expanding number of poker books suited to almost any player, scenario and type of poker.

If you want to get into the nitty gritty, the poker tools you can get are also quite handy. Poker Tracker and the HuD should give you a good idea about yourself and your game.

As caliban stated, low limits to start with and studying is the best way. An online coach couldnt tickle my fancy.

Ok, thanks for your input!

I'm currently evaluating PokerOffice, but I have not recorded enough hands to actually make something of the data.

One more question about this coaching site: Is there anything I could lose? The way I understand it, I still get the signup bonus if I use their referral code. Is this possible?
I mean, if their "system" and advice is worthless, I might just stop using it, right? I'll be reading and playing a lot either way....
