Sounds like a typical 5 or 7 card stud game where the one-eyed jacks and the king that is holding the axe are wild cards.

IMO, any poker game that requires wild cards is nothing more than a kids game, sure it makes it more challenging, but where is the skill with so many wild cards out there.
There is alot more luck than skill to play with wild cards in the deck.

some friends i play some nickle dime with play dealers choice and always play with wild cards, one of their favs is seven card no peak one eyed jacks and threes are wild they also like to play threes and suicide king(the one with the axe). i dont like playing with wilds but its the only opportunity to play some live games so i deal with it.

Er, not to be picky, but the suicide king is not the one with the axe. The suicide king (the king of hearts) is the one holding the sword that looks to be stuck through his head (though it is actually behind his head). Hence the name.

Maybe we can start a new nick name. The king holding the axe next to his head could be the attempted suicide king.

IMO dealers choice nickle-dime games (which I play quite often) are more fun when you start to mix up the gameplay. Granted once you introduce more than 8 wild cards it gets a little out of hand, but it is still very fun. See my other thread for a very fun game with wild cards.
