Notes feature on PokerStars?

I thought the pokerstars notes feature would be great to keep track of thoughts on players I had played, but either I've never come up against someone again - or notes are only good for the event you're in. Can anyone confirm that pokerstars software doesn't keep the notes you make? I've made enough notes on players that I think I would have seen one again

?

They're saved on your own computer in a text file.

Thanks

Thanks for the speedy reply - found it

- they really ought to pop an N on the image the next time you come across someone though; but the file will be enough for me to track if it doesn't get too big

Thanks again

There is a picture of a little notepad under the players name if you've taken notes on them before.

If you're playing MTTs, you have to play an awful lot to come across someone you have notes on, just because of the large fields of casual players.

If you're playing ring games, however, you'll come across the same players a lot more frequently.

I've encountered it before where I KNOW I've made notes on particular players only to NOT see them the next time they were on my table. Not 100% sure what that was all about but I contacted Pokerstars about it,.. they asked me to forward my notes files to them (I didn't want to so just experimented a bit with it myself).
Seems I need to shut my computer down in order for all my 'new notes' to stay saved on file (I clean my puter out often,.. due to some poker programs I run on it while playing and FILLS up my files real fast).
Since shutting down puter after a session each time, I've never lost another note to my knowledge.

What areood notes to keep?

Thanks, must have played enough now because starting to see them come up.

New question: what is useful to keep in a note?

I track people that sit out, are aggresive, all-in often, beat me ...

People take different notes and in different ways.

But I suggest you download some of the videos ChuckTs has posted in the videos section. Chances are you will see him making notes in both the sng and cash table videos and if you like it you can take over his system.
Or use it as inspiration to create one of your own.

I make quite a few notes and see them regularly against people I sit down with. I'd say I average one pre-existing note per table at the micros.
