nh (nice hand?)

Anybody get annoyed when you see the chat 'nh' when a player has won with a really poor hand but got luck with the board?
I lost to a guy holding 7 3 off but he got lucky with a 3 on the turn and a 7 on the river.
Someone said 'nh'.
The blinds were 100 so should he even be there, espcially as there was a bet on flop?
Either he is a genius or I have missed something somewhere.

loads of people type stuff like that, best to ignore them ;]

they are either bad, so educating them will mean less money for you, or they are good and encouraging the other bad players bad play

its more annoying when the player that played 73 off and won asks for someone to tell him it was a nice hand or is a little pissy that nobody said anything..oh and did he have a big chip stack..maybe he was mixing up his play jacking around and got lucky cuz the bets werent big enough to scare him off...sometimes if have like 58 off or any combo of non suited non connecting number cards i let it ride if the price is still cheap.

My favorite is :

Each one folded, winner mucks and guy says : NICE HAND !!!

Which hand ? we even haven't seen it.....

It's real sometimes it's too much but whatever... I loose or win. Nice hand or not i don't care. lol

Sometimes it can be used as sarcasm, especially when they hit runner-runner. I usually just ignore it. The only time I'll use it, if I took a bad beat, it helps me let go and forget about that last hand, and focus on the game.

NH? What does that even mean?

I find the whole concept of nh--nice hand silly. I mean, what did the player do? Did they design the cards to deal and flop just right? I mean, if someone gets dealt AA pre-flop and hits an A on the table to win with AAA--what did they do? The luck factor is just too huge in poker, in my opinion, to congratulate anyone. I think "nice bet" is more reasonable--but that all depends on the other players at the table, too. Just my two cents.

Please. If I see nh many more times I'll throw my computer across the room. If you've got something to say take the time to say it. If what u mean to say is "" you lucky arsed mongrel how could you bet 500 of your tiny stack with 2,2 against my Á,A ................"" Sorry that was last night needless to say he caught 2 on turn & 2 on river after I caugt A on flop and some idiot types nh!!!!!!!! any way thanks I needed to get that off my chest.
Cheers

There's the flipside too. I find people getting really upset whenever they get drawn out. It's not "lucky" to hit a staight or a flush draw with the correct pot odds.

I see your point, and it is a bit over used, but I think it's just a matter of good sportsmanship. Don't you teach your kids to give their opponents a "Good Game" in Hockey of Baseball? I must admit though, some of my NH's are tainted with more than a bit of sarcasm.
