New record attempt for Poker Stars

Poker Stars is having yet another world record attempt. It is a 1.00 buy in, I am already registered. Tourney is on Dec 27th. $300,000.00 guaranteed prize pool.

i was in the last one they held aroud this time last year..i placed about 350th out of 35,000 for about $120 bucks and it was like a $10 buy in. may end up joinin this one at the last minute

For a buck, I'll probably play. I played in the last one. I just checked it out, and it doesn't look like they've put a maximum entry cap on it(I think they did that last time). I'll bet ~100,000 players.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm in, should be interesting. I find it fun to watch the "finished" list grow almost faster than I can track it in these crazy giant tournaments.

wow i see you had a VERY nice finish in this event effexor. nice job. I would have done better i think, if i had been a member here at CC at the time i played...it was one of my first MTT's i played and really had no idea what i was doing once it got into the later stages i.e blind stealing, stealing from CO, re raising all in with chit...instead i waited for premium hands to come which led me to blind out in the end.

i remember i one point i had 45K in chips when the average was around 8K LOL..but i had no idea i should be bullying and re raising opponents.

They should end up breaking the record again. They ran a turbo freeroll the other night that had 85,000 people in it.

Their is NO question imo that they will break the record. Last year when i played the event was a $10 + $1 entry fee...being that its only $1 this year...no question the record will be broken..gonna be a huge donkament though

i signed up just for the heck of it i know the play is gona be terrible but ill try to stay alive first hour and cash in that piece. i won a tourny with almsot 6k peeps but 300,000 lol im not that good or lucky. gl to those r lucky enough to get a deep run.

Should be interesting ... if I recall, I saw a max registration number of 150,000 which would also mean an overlay of $150,000. Maybe being the Guinness Record Holder is worth it ... ... but running the sats will pick up at least part of the overlay.

For those planning to wait ... Stars also posted a note that even though this is a 'guaranteed prize pool' event ... there will be NO LATE REGISTRATION like there is in their other GTD tourneys.

Over 81,000 regged so far.

I won a 6,000 seat freeroll and one of about 2,000 that set-up my free trip to a WPT Boot Camp. I can't wait to win this puppy. It will be nice being able to be listed in Guinness now. What fun it will be. Oops, I better not win cause my wife doesn't want everyone to know I play poker.......
