New bad-beat-free poker site!

Watching the first events of the WSOP I notided this bizarre patch worn by an experienced player.





I have started to focus primarily on it and thanks to a close-up I later found out what it was. At that point I stopped watching the event and rushed to investigate, intrigued by the exeptional slogan "Don't get screwed by the river".
Browsing the internet I came up with a shocking discovery!
Apparently a new revolutionary bad-beat-free poker site is about to be launched on the web!
Here is a quote on their website that basically represents the differnet way they plan to approach the game of poker:

For what I understand, basically they are tring to have a poker site that takes bad beats out of the equation, so in some way they are either going to give a part of the pot to whoever was ahead at the time the money went in, or they are going to give some kind of equity because a player was ahead so doesn't get unfairly punished and lose the entire pot given that he was the favorite at the time the money went in.

Ya, they talked about that on 2+2 pokercast this week. IMO bad beats are part of poker, and taking it away from the game, well its like watching a fotball game without any goals.

I heard it on 2+2 as well. I have no idea what they plan on doing but it sounds ludicrous to me.

So if I get it in as a 65/35 favorite on the turn and get sucked out on the river, I get some of the pot because I was ahead on the turn?

If I get it in as a 35/65 dog on the turn and lose the hand, do I get some of the pot because I had 35% equity on the turn? Is it any less fair for me to get some of the pot w better than 0% equity?

This site won't last. That's nice that they're trying something new.. but this is a dumb idea, imo. As Bridge said, bad beats are a part of the poker game. It helps the bad players thinking they're good, and coming back for more.

although this would be nice alot of the time, its not really poker. its kind of like when we were kids and "everybody was a winner". good luck comes and goes but statistically it should happen to everybody just about equally. its unfair to the better players who arent going to have them selves in a position so often to deliver a bad beat.

Surely theoretically it's in favour of the better players, as they are going in ahead more often and therefore are beaten by bad beats more often too?

The concept of this site is interesting, but wouldnt eliminating bad beats create bad beats too. It is impossible to create a working poker game like this. People need to realize that bad beats are a part of poker. The founder of this site clearly lost too much and couldnt handle it.

Maybe you get the bad beat BEFORE the river so it wouldn't count lol
Besides, like it or not bad beats are a part of poker everyone has also benefited in some way sometime of a bad beat, myself included.

At least all the people that think FullTilt is rigged can go play on a rigged site now :P lol, well I don't know if its rigged, but if its taking bad beats out, then what else would it be lol

I don't think FTP is rigged, but I do think pokerstars "might" be rigged.
That's why I moved to ftp, I don't find as many bad beats as I did on pokerstars...

But this new site...? I don't know... It sounds too good to be true without a tricky part....

If CC played on there...... how would Joe ever win? (no more pennies sent to my Stars acc't either... ).

I'd wager that people will sign up & play a bit on this site. Whiners for sure, & others just to check out the novelty of it.

sounds like a fail just waiting to happen, that would screw around with the pots too much and i feel that you simply cant take that aspect away from poker, it's just part of the game

It is a bad idea because it tinkers with the very reason poker works in the first place.

I'll pass. This is not real poker and I agree-they'll be gone soon.
