I dont get why people do that? Do they really think they are in the lead with K high? Or do they just suck that bad and really think they will catch a K on the turn or river. I hate it when people do that, i only like it when they do it too me and give me all there chips! =)

He wasn't ready to commit his entire stack yet, DM. Saving the last 1/4 of his original stack for, for, for something good, I'm sure. Bad playing by him all the way through, but Chuck, I'm interested in the reads. I'm having difficulty with situational aggression so any of your thought process would be appreciated. First, he calls a limp, so he's not got much of a hand. Then, he calls your raise by himself, knowing UTG has folded so he doesn't have that to help his pot odds, which tells you what? Just that he's a bad player, but not necessarily anything about his hand, other than he's probably not slowplaying a monster. Leads 200 into a 2,675 pot, which is not even a probe bet, maybe he thinks it's some kind of blocking bet, telling you he's weak? TT/77/22 makes a stronger bet, flush draw either stronger as well or checks, so you raise him the pot. He hits the raise button, leaving him with 1/4 of his original stack. Like you say, TP of 9 is not a hand to get your stack in normally, so am I missing any reads within the hand itself? I'm also assuming there are previous reads from earlier hands.

Basically I had three specific tidbits on his play. His numbers suggested a lot of limping and he raised only when he had strong hands. Very weak hands = steal my limps. Q9 is a little weak, but I had position etc. Flop bet was many of his weak blocking bets. I actually thought he had something like A7 here. Minreraise is something he'd actually done a few times in the same tourney and had shown down very weak hands. For whatever reason, minreraises are part of his bluffing strategy :/

He's not alone, I think. I suspect because of the chip value required just to min reraise a flop raise people think that should be enough to represent strength. Unable or unwilling to think in terms of pot ratios. |

I love when I see people minraising. From what I have found, the minraise means that they have nothing and it is a weak bluff attempt or they have a very strong hand and want to rope u in. The thing is, once a player does this once and shows down a hand I know what their minraise represents. Players that minraise VERY rarely mix it up from what I have seen and if u see them minraise with the nuts and they do it again, u can be fairly confident they have a hand. If they minraise with nothing and do it again, be confident that they have nothing. This is not fool proof (obviously) but what Ive observed in many many 10 dollar and below SnGs

Hilariously bad. Alas, it wasn't a cash game, but I sure hope the chip dump helped you. Was playing a PL 5card-draw SNG tonight and this guy decided to stand pat after calling my raise. I obviously did not make my flush (the raise was to steal the blinds obviously), but I still decided to bet a ridiculously small amount compared to what was in the pot (around 5%) for kicks. And you've guessed it, the guy just folded. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I showed my hand (loling a lot) and he whined saying he had a pair of KK... Stunning play there champ.
