| need your opinion in a situation I recently had an account closed with ~$1750 @ full tilt. Their reasoning is for multiple accounts. Well, I have been trying to do some reading up on the matter and find that some people just get their money moved over to the other account and some have their funds "appropriated." I have played on my current (now closed) account for over 2 years and have been a somewhat steady and loyal customer. Points of interest: 1. New account has rakeback, old does not. 2. Just took 7th in a 1500+ field tourney for a ~$1000 score. 3. Why is it all of the sudden this is an issue....if I had an older account, would they not have done something about this before I had the ability to cash out 1.7k? 4. They didn't close it until I emailed support about not being able to join any real money games...... 5. I have emailed them and responded appropriately, not acting rash and willing to discuss any issue they might have. I have emailed them once as not to annoy or overwhelm them.... 6. They have not responded in over 24 hours. whats my line? |

| Best case scenario you'll get to cash out your winnings and they'll close your account with rakeback leaving your old account without rakeback open. (will probably happen eventually tho ftp support is incredibly slow) They generally don't run a security review of your account until your about to cash out which is why yours was flagged then for multi-accounting. keep in mind they are also in the right to take all your winnings: site terms:

Also, I can't even log into the "old" account even after I have reset the password... Last edited by dcor : 13th December 2010 at 10:56 PM. |

| re: need your opinion in a situation poker Whatever the reason for the check on your account they are perfectly in their right to close the account and keep all of the funds. You agreed to the TOS when you joined. Although they will most likely move the funds from the closed account to the old account. If you purposefully created a new account to obtain rakeback because your old account was connected to a non rakeback affiliate I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were FT id keep your funds too. |

And here is where I think it gets morally gray....I think they are more likely to "appropriate" my account based upon how much money is there....if I had $17.50 instead of $1,750 I think I would have already gotten a slap on the wrist, no harm no foul type of response....now that it is a decent chunk of money, they want it....sure it truly is nothing to them in the grand scheme of what they own but still more of a roll than probably most people playing on their site.... |

| re: need your opinion in a situation poker You should never have received a penny in rakeback, how is it not defrauding them? Actually if you were connected to a non rakeback affiliate your taking money away from that affiliate, if you were never connected to an affiliate there was no reason to create another account. |

| They closed your account because you had 2 of them which is against the rules. Rakeback or no rakeback that second account would be closed no matter what. I only bring up rakeback as a reason for them to keep your money because you were basically defrauding them (if you were never connected to an affiliate you wouldve been able to get rakeback so I would think itd be a non issue). As to rakeback being unfair in some way, move to Pokerstars, no rakeback, bonuses based on how much you play/pay. |
