Need some advice from US players(especialy people in new york)

Hi, im new to all this poker thing and im wondering if anyone can answer a few of my questions, preferably U.S players.

1. I read alot into playing online poker in the U.S and i hear alot of people saying they cant cash out there money from poker sites because its against a certain law is this true?

2.Is there a easy way to withdraw money from certain online poker site using other websites like paypal?(I know that paypal doesnt allow money from gambling sites but im looking for similar sites that i can use to make online purchases)

3.The poker site ive been looking at is PokerStar. The problem is the only way u can withdraw money is by asking them for checks. I live in new york and i read online that many banks doesnt except these checks, is there anyway around this?

1. It's not that they can't cash out but that banks are not supposed to transfer money to an online gambling site.

2. As you say, Paypal doesn't do any gambling transfers. There are no services of that type that I know of that operate in the US.

3. Checks from poker sites are fine. Banks will cash them. And Poker Stars is one of the most trusted online poker sites. You would have no problem cashing one of their checks here in NY.

Thx a bunch ^^ just wanted to make sure that i can cash out checks without any problems. Can't wait till i turn 18 in november so i can start.

hey, umm the only comment i can make on that is regarding bodog, its the only site i play on anymore, probably because i like to torture myself lol, but they still process your payouts as well the only thing is if you cash out by check it comes from a bank in canada!!! so when you go to your bank to cash it they put a 7 day hold on it to wait for it to clear, hope that helps gl
