My limit holdem troubles
I play 0.5/1.0 limit HE ring games
i usually do fairly well and double or triple my buy-in on a good day lately there have been too many fish if thats possible for example how am i supposed to isolate w/ AKs when EVERY PLAYER has limped in? i raise and every single one calls flop comes all rags (well that was pointless) i'm considering a stakes uppage...but i don't think my bankroll(~300) could handle 1/2 and i'm not even sure if I could survive as i'm still a noob with LHE sorry if im bein annoying i just needed to vent a little what do you guys suggest? just grin and bear it? |

re: My limit holdem troubles poker
AKs plays beautifully against many players! Did anyone bet on the flop? Did you fold?
What you must remember is that even though you will not win as many pots, you will win HUGE pots when you do win them! Poker is about winning money, not pots. |

The important thing to remember with the lower limits is that on the whole the play will be looser - it eliminates some of a poker players arsenal - bluffing in particular, but picking the pots to get involved in will help. Ideally you should probably pick a fairly loose-passive table, where players will rarely raise, as this will allow you to manipulate pot sizes more and get better profits. In an ultra-aggressive loose game, you can find capped betting most rounds, which allows you to make the most off the hands you do hit well, but which prevents you manipulating the pot. That said, if you then only play high pocket pairs, and let the aggressive players raise and reraise, then you can get good returns playing only real premium hands like AA and KK.

re: My limit holdem troubles poker
The play at the .50/1 Limit hold em tables is fairly weak and passive, you should play ABC poker, raise with the good hands , if you dont hit and are against a single player, you can continuation bvet, against many players dont even think about it. You might be getting a lot of suckouts , but in the long run this is so good for you it doesnt even matter, i even get happy when they fish suckout on me, cause i know they just lost money and they beatifull thiing is they think they played well and the next time they will play the same way . So it doesnt matter if 4 players limped, then called your raise. When you hit your hand , its gonna pay handsomely like someone mentioned in a post.
You say you cant move to the 1/2 limits, why ? If you are a consistent winner, with i assume you are, then you can move there, you have 150 BB with i think would be enough , although a unprotected bankroll, to be able to play at the 1/2 $ limit hold em table . When i first began to build my bankroll, i only used to have 100 BB of the limit i played , so for the 1/2 i used to have 200 dollars, and i was able to get my bankroll high, a single good hand there can esaily get you 40+ dollars there . Now i play it safer and i usually have 400 to 500 BB for the levels i play because I decided I will never deposit again and i want to keep that bankroll on growing . Going back to the .50/1 table, keep playing there for some more and dont concentrate on short term losses, try to play atleast 500 to 1000 hands and then see how much money you won/lost. When i sit at those .50/1 tables , i usually sit with 30 and leave with more then 50 after 1000 hands, the play is so bad, you will eventually win in the long run . I know 1000 hands is not a long run, but its a rather long session . PS : Try to see the flop around 20% of the time , with would be ideal and win atleast 80% or more of the showdowns . I hope this small post can help you some , if you want PM me. I am not a poker pro, but i consider myself a good enough player to be able to discuss some poker with you. I could watch you play and help out with some word of advice . |

W$SD is usually in the 55% range. But you can't really "adjust" that consciously, you just have to get a better idea of how likely it is that you have the best hand on the river. If it's a 20% chance, and you're paying $1 in a $10 to find out - CALL!
